It was long ago confirmed that Suits had seen its final season, however fans will be pleased to know that a spin-off series is on the cards. Titled Suits: LA, filming of the first episode for the new series is set to take place in Vancouver towards the end of March 2024.
Produced and written by Suits creator Aaron Korsh, the show will centre on a character named Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York who is starting a new life in Los Angeles where he represents some seriously powerful clients.
Sorry, is this an awards show? Or the lobby at Pearson Specter Litt?

"His firm is at a crisis point and, to survive, he must take on a role he's held in contempt throughout his career. Ted is surrounded by a group of characters who test their loyalty to Ted and to each other as they can't help but mix their personal and professional lives," the synopsis reveals.
At the moment, very few details are confirmed, though there has been some casting news – and the show is set to recruit some new faces. Stephen Amell, per Variety, will play lead character Ted Black, while Lex Scott Davis will also join the show as his co-lead.
According to TVLine, she will play Erica Rollins, “a savvy and strong-willed rising star at the firm who is shrewd enough to test the loyalty of her associates only to admire some of them for not having any.”
So, it looks like Suits: LA will have a cast of fresh faces, rather than familiar characters from the previous series – but that doesn't mean some former Suits stars haven't expressed interest. Patrick J. Adams, who played Meghan Markle's love interest and faux lawyer Mike Ross in the show, recently shared his willingness to reprise his role.
"Whatever the case, our fearless Aaron is working on it. And if we get the call, if I get the call, I'm ready to get dressed. I love the show, I love the character. And I've loved working with all these people," the actor said at the 2024 Golden Globes.
The recipe for streaming success? A procedural, a princess and a paucity of choice.

Unsurprisingly, news of the spin-off has turned conversation to fellow former Suits star the Duchess of Sussex – with fans wondering if she would ever return to acting and star in the show. But in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, both Patrick J. Adams and Gabriel Macht said they hadn't spoken with their former co-star about the potential new project.
“I have not communicated with her other than seeing her big support for the resurgence, and that has been really nice,” Macht said, with Adams adding: “No, no communication.”
Adams had previously told E! News at the Golden Globes that he'd love to work with Meghan again. “I think Meghan is a fantastic actress. We'd be lucky to have her back in the industry." As for a re-boot, he added: “Let's go, I'd do it. I'm ready. Mike and Rachel in Seattle.”
Suits has already had the spin-off treatment in the form of Pearson, in which Gina Torres reprised her character Jessica Pearson, though the series was ultimately cancelled after one season because it failed to pull in a large audience.
That said, we remain hopeful about the prospect of a new Suits spin-off, and let's see who of the original cast will be making a return. Could we see Megan Markle in a new era of Suits? It's doubtful, but we can only hope.
A version of this feature originally appeared on Vanity Fair France.
