Snowbombing is undoubtedly a one-of-a-kind experience. Your ticket will grant you access to a ton of activities, accommodation and of course festival entrance. From the mesmerising location in Mayrhofen to the thrilling activities, the yummy food options, and the incredible lineup of artists, Snowbombing is the ultimate winter festival that promises to be worth every penny.

So grab your snow gear, pack your enthusiasm, and get ready to embark on an unforgettable journey of snow-filled fun. Here are nine the reasons why you need to put Snowbombing on your festival bucket list…

1. The location

The mountain-side town of Mayrhofen makes the festival what it is and provides a stunning backdrop for Snowbombing. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks and picturesque landscapes, this charming village sets the stage for an unforgettable experience. It’s oozing with old Austrian charm and the locals win for hospitality and friendliness. Head to one of the town’s many local bars or enjoy some wiener schnitzel if you want to do it like a real Austrian.

2. The skiing

The slopes of Hintertux glacier make for a ski lover’s dream. Start your day early by hitting the slopes as the lifts open and blow away those cobwebs on the bright slopes before catching an après-ski beer in one of the many bars up the mountain. Once you’re done, shred your way down to prepare for another night of partying, before starting the cycle all over again…

3. The snowboarding

Wether you have your own board, or rent one, make sure you squeeze in a lesson on the baby slopes if it's your first time getting on a snowboard. It is a beginners' friendly opportunity to either dust off your slope cobwebs or get to grip with the basics like how to hold the board, how to get up with it and how to be a master of shredding (okay maybe that comes a little later).

4. The activities

There is more to do beyond the skiing, snowboarding and the Après ski. At Snowbombing there will be lots of opportunities to try something new and different. From Alpine mountaintop yoga, comedy nights, and wild Bongo’s Bingo bonanzas, to pre-party workouts with Mr Motivator, Snolympics fun, and Chair Lift Speeddating – and yes, that's exactly what it sounds like it is, speeddating in the chair lifts to the slopes. Clearly the fun never stops.

5. The Reggae Shack

Escape to the laid-back vibes of the Reggae Shack, a dedicated bar and restaurant where you can immerse yourself in the smooth sounds of reggae, drill, garage music, dance music, you name it. Chill out with friends, dance to the rhythm, eat, and soak up the party vibes, helmet in hand.

6. The fancy dress

Snowbombers go HARD on the fancy dress. Snowbombing is renowned for its legendary fancy dress. Like many festivals, Snowbombing is a vibrant melting pot of colour and creativity, where everyone clearly embraces the spirit of fun and individuality, the snow does not hold anyone back. You haven’t lived before you’ve witnessed three nuns skiing. Or large groups of grown men with newborn babies inflatable suits. For some, it's fun over comfort.

7. Hans the Butcher Sausages

At snowbombing you can also treat your taste buds to the mouthwatering delights of Hans Sausages. Hans happens to be one of the most unique venues at the festival. There you can be treated to the most delicious Austrians meat delicacies, all with a beer in hand while listening to the sounds of the DJs. These hearty treats will keep you fuelled for all the festival fun.

8. The forest

It’s the festival’s most unique stage, set in a forest as the name suggests, that lights up the whole Mayrhofen town. Standing among the thick woodland you can experience real festival vibes, with an epic light show, strobe lights, dry ice and enjoy the night under a canopy of fairy lights on the VIP deck with a beer in hand while watching some of your favourite acts. Another unforgettable moment you’ll only get at Snowbombing.

9. The line-up

Each year, Snowbombing manages to pull in the leading acts from the world’s electronic dance scene. The 2023 lineup included Jamie xx, Eliza Rose, SB family Andy C, Eats Everything and Groove Armada which should give you some idea of its standing.
