I, for one, have never been a big fan of pink nail polish, but the more I see celebrities doing Barbiecore manicures — the more I'm inching toward getting one myself. The latest star to give it a try: Selena Gomez.
It's a well-known fact in this our year of the doll 2023, that pink is no longer just pink. Pink, especially worn in a prominent or very noticeable way, is Barbiecore. Even if Barbie herself never dabbled in pink hair, having pink hair right now is an act of Barbiecore. A predominantly pink outfit? Barbiecore. And of course, one of the most popular ways to incorporate Barbiecore into your look: a pink manicure.
Let's be honest, Barbiecore was so last year...
Selena shared a couple shots of her latest manicure to her Instagram Stories, revealing the loveliest, opaque, bright bubblegum pink manicure. She's even holding a pink purse, wearing a pink floral dress, and is surrounded by pink gift bags.
Her go-to nail artist, Tom Bachik, is responsible for the super-pretty set, and he posted about it on his Instagram grid, too. "When @selenagomez wants a Happy Colour… What’s happier than a Barbie Pink," he wrote in the caption. And he would know — Tom has done many of Margot Robbie's manicures throughout the Barbie movie press and premiere cycle.

Although I may not go the gel-tips route like Tom did for Selena with this manicure, you can be damn sure, after years of resisting pink nails, I'm going to look for a traditional-polish dupe for Aprés Nails' Sweet Cheeks. Barbiecore is just that powerful of a movement.
