Unlike most high schoolers his age, 17-year-old Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp doesn’t technically need a summer job to pay for things like petrol and, IDK, milkshakes at the local shop or whatever.
However, Schnapp has decided to take a temporary summer gig as a lifeguard, just like any other teenager anyway. For fun.
As he told Flaunt, “It’s kind of a ‘just for fun’ thing.” According to Schnapp, who stars in one of the biggest shows ever to hit Netflix, he tries to keep his life outside of Stranger Things low-key. “I’ve kind of grown up with a normal life and normal friends and stuff outside of Stranger Things,” he said. “So it’s kind of kept me grounded.”
She almost quit acting at 10 years old.

If you want proof that Schnapp really does moonlight as a lifeguard, there’s a TikTok video floating around of the teen actor dancing in a lifeguard’s unmistakable uniform of red trunks with a lanyard around his neck. Cue the “Billy” jokes.
One other normal teen thing that Noah Schnapp has done this year? Applying to college, of course. Schnapp was accepted to the University of Pennsylvania in December, a moment that was captured in an adorable family TikTok video.

At the Ivy League, according to Flaunt, Schnapp will live in the dorms like a normal freshman and major in business rather than acting. “Acting was just kind of repetitive, and I wanted to try something new,” he explained.
Truly, it’s hard to know what to expect next from this kid. Will he also work in the dining hall swiping meal cards? Take a gap-year Euro trip? Star in an Oscar-winning movie? Reignite his feud with Doja Cat? All possible options.
