Mulberry names Johnny Coca as new creative director

Mulberry has a new recruit! The luxury brand is "delighted" to reveal that the new Creative Director is former Céline designer, Johnny Coca.

The long-awaited announcement, which popped in our inbox this morning, revealed that Johnny will join Mulberry on 8 July 2015. from Céline where he is Head Design Director for Leather Goods, Shoes, Hard Accessories, Jewellery and Sunglasses.

He was also responsible for the posh satin skater shoes that we all lusted over.

As Mulberry's Creative Director, Johnny Coca will be responsible for all of Mulberry's collections, reporting to Godfrey Davis, Chairman and CEO.

Godfrey said: "We are delighted that Johnny is joining us. He has a wealth of international luxury and fashion experience that will help us bring new energy and innovation to Mulberry."

Talking about his new role, Johnny Coca said: "I very much look forward to joining Mulberry as their new Creative Director and to leading a new design direction at one of the very best British Brands."

Natalie Hartley, GLAMOUR's Fashion Director, predicts big things for the brand: "This is very exciting news, and with Johnny coming from a brand like Céline, it means great things will be in the pipeline for Mulberry.
