While it’s true that a year ago Monica Barbaro was (almost) “a complete unknown,” in 2025, after playing Joan Baez in the film about Bob Dylan, she is far from it. What’s more, if one thing has become clear, it’s that she’s also an It girl with an envy-inducing wardrobe.

In the span of two weeks, the Top Gun: Maverick actor stepped out at Glastonbury, Wimbledon, and the streets of New York, showcasing her relaxed but always polished style. From living it up at a music festival in chunky boots to hard launching her relationship with Andrew Garfield in matching outfits to promoting the second season of her show FUBAR in one of the most controversial trends of the moment, Barbaro is ahead of the curve.

Let’s start with her Glastonbury look: The 35-year-old gave us a preview of the best boots for fall 2025 in a pair of equestrian-inspired and water-resistant leather boots. The flat-soled boots with a knee-high cut are especially popular for this iconic festival as they’re practical, comfortable, and easy to clean.

A week later Barbaro arrived at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club with Garfield dressed in timeless basics. And we’re not just referring to her light and fresh white dress or her camel short-handled bag, but also to her white sandals with thin straps and very high heels that are the icing on the cake of an elegant closet staple that works as well today as it will in five years’ time.

Both choices in footwear are classic, uncomplicated, versatile, and, of course, the perfect way to start a shoe rack that guarantees a year full of good styling. Thank you, Monica Barbaro!
