22 stunning mermaidcore beauty looks to tap into summer's biggest trend

With summer finally showing up, we want to know what's trending in the beautysphere for the coming season. Out in front is mermaidcore beauty (which aside from picking up 202.5 million views on TikTok) has been making a splash across social and the red carpet.

Everywhere we look there's XXL crimped mermaid waves, wet-look strands, sea-misted dewy skin, slick, glossy lips and shimmering eyeshadows in mermaid-worthy tones like sea foam green, ocean blue, sparkling silver and iridescent lilac.

We've seen pearl and shell details, from pretty face stickers and eyeliner accents, to pearlescent glazed nails and shimmering sea-toned manis.

Momentum for the trend has been building for some time. Last year gave us mesmerising siren eyes (elongating the eye with eyeliner to give it a lifted, sweeping effect, that's as sultry and enchanting as sea sirens). Before that, dolphin skin made waves thanks to its fresh, sea-slicked complexion. And the celebs have been getting on board, too.
