Margot Robbie is the biggest star in the world right now, thanks to her turn in Barbie, which she also produced BTW. That's why we were shocked and amused in equal measure to see her fan-girling over Love Island cast members at the Barbie premiere.

Whilst Danica Taylor, Liberty Poole, and last summer's winners Ekin-Su and Davide, probably couldn't believe their luck at scoring an invite to this year's most major movie premiere, Margot seemed to be the #blessed one.

Speaking to BBC Newsbeat after the Barbie premiere, Ekin-Su says she ‘really, really, really’ hoped she'd meet Margot. The former contestant, who was papped alongside the film's lead on the red carpet, said: "I know there was a TikTok that went viral on about how she really really liked me from Love Island and how she was basically saying I came across as a boss babe. And at the time when I came out the villa, I was shocked that she actually said my name. So when Margot saw me, I was the biggest fan for her and she acted like she was a fan for me which I was even more overwhelmed with."

Margot Robbie even told her: "I can't believe I'm meeting you."

I can't.

Despite producing and starring in some of Hollywood's most revered movies, Margot is surprisingly a huge fan of the ITV dating show. In fact, Margot is such a fan of the show that for her 31st birthday in 2021, she had a Love Island theme party and told press she was backing Ekin and Davide, who are no longer together, to win the summer series last year. She also invited Jordan Hames, Michael Griffiths and Lucie Donlan to the 2019 Birds of Prey red carpet - with Lucie revealing that Margot later invited them to the after-party.

"Love Island reminds me of living in London, watching it with my girlfriends when everybody was home from work," she said.

Inspo for the next series of Gogglebox, anyone?
