With all the hype starting to build up to Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool (come on Mae Muller!) it’s hard not to get a little bit jealous if you didn’t manage to bag any tickets. But with the cost of the tickets themselves, along with the accommodation and travel, there is another way to get your Eurovision fix; just make sure to bring your best besties along.
Who knew that saying you’re taking a ‘flight’, as the welcoming staff say, to Mamma Mia! The Party at The O2 arena in London, would give you such a high right from the very start! Walking through the Greek themed interior once you’re in, made to look as though you’re walking through the mediterranean alleyways outside in the summer heat, you’re eventually greeted into the main room, which is decked out like a huge Greek taverna, complete with performers already starting to ‘chat’ near the bar along with the relaxing sound of crickets.
We can't wait to hear her perform at this year's contest in Liverpool.

You’re welcomed with a meze of dips, olives & bread and a greek salad to get you going (make sure you toast with a glass of Moët if you can too). Then before you know it, the performance begins! It’s an easy, relaxed atmosphere, much like the Mediterranean way of life, as you swing around on your chair to try and catch all the action happening in every corner of the room. As some of the waiters dance (don’t ask them for a drink if they are!), and the incredible performance finishes its first act, soon enough the main course of Confit lamb shoulder and slow cooked beef arrives complete with a serving of romesco, or roasted cauliflower with a lemon-herb dressing as a vegetarian option. Very much needed if you’re drinking a few glasses of wine…
As the second act follows, rounded off with a Greek Lemon cake for dessert, you honestly don’t even know where the last 2 hours have gone, let alone wondering why your cheekbones are so sore from smiling and laughing too much. The third act follows on a wooden stage that has suddenly appeared in the centre of the room, and this is where the Abba megamix comes out. Prepare to let yourself go, because if you haven’t already by now, you certainly will at this point. Once the performance is over, grab your phone as you’ll certainly want to go over to the centre stage and take a quick selfie to finish the night. You’ll probably lose your voice slightly from all the singing as the night draws to an end, but if you ask us, it was totally worth it.
Mamma Mia! The Party prices start from £108.90 and you can get tickets from mammamiatheparty.co.uk
