It's that time of year again. Arguably, the best time of year. MAFS Australia is back.

Series 12 kicked off on 3 March on E4 and the romance and drama is already in full swing. After just a few episodes, we've already fallen head over heels for big Dave and little Jamie. We've gasped in shock (and a little bit of reality TV-fuelled glee) at Eliot's utterly ridiculous list of “non-negotiables”. And now, we've been faced with one of the most emotionally turbulent MAFS weddings ever: introducing Katie and Tim.

Let's just say, things didn't exactly get off to a great start for this pair. And although the series is still airing, we can already confirm whether or not this couple made it all the way.

Here's everything we know about Katie and Tim from MAFS Australia so far.

Katie and Tim's journey on MAFS Australia so far

Ok, let's put it this way: things got off to a very, very rocky start for this pair.

It all began with Katie in tears before the wedding had even begun. Her fear? That she had “trapped” a stranger into marriage.

“It wasn’t supposed to happen this way, right? You’re meant to fall in love and then do it, but nobody will fall in love with me,” she said. "I feel like a fraud." Heartbreaking.

Even more heartbreaking? Her fears kind of came true when she got to the altar.

"I just haven’t got that initial spark," Tim said to the cameras after meeting Katie.

Things got worse. He was then filmed speaking to one of the producers: “What the fuck. It’s just totally not what I wanted,” he said. "I normally go for short, petite, blonde or brunette. Katie’s nothing what I normally go for… I’m a bit embarrassed that I’ve come here now. I don’t want to be here. I feel like I wasted my time."

Honestly, it was all pretty hard to watch.

Are Katie and Tim from MAFS Australia still together?

After that rough start, it probably won't come as a huge surprise to learn that, no, Katie and Tim are not together after their MAFS wedding.

The pair did persevere with their marriage after the wedding, but their relationship seemed doomed from the start. First, they chose to sleep in separate rooms.

“He said, 'There's no spark, I wasn't feeling a spark all day,'” Katie said in a confessional interview. "To be rejected, that's my worst nightmare. I don't know what I've done wrong or why this keeps happening, I feel really humiliated."

They did set off on a honeymoon, but, as you might have guessed, it didn't exactly go well. Soon enough, Tim had confessed that Katie wasn't his usual type.

They then moved into separate apartments and arrived at the first dinner party separately.

To put the icing on the cake, Tim refused to take any accountability. At the dinner, he blamed Katie for their problems: “All I would say is, I feel like I've been the one making most of the effort,” he said. When he was questioned, he stormed out. Yikes.

At the first commitment ceremony, the pair decided to call it a day.

"I came here for love, not to do work," Tim said. "When you feel that someone's not there for you, that's not a partner I want."

Again, major yikes.

In an interview, Katie later revealed that she had tried to encourage Tim to make an effort to at least be friendly. "I told him it would be in his best interest to take it day by day and just get to the Commitment Ceremony, and if we need to leave then we could leave as friends," she said. "But instead he decided to create a war path. You don't have to like me, you don't have to love me, you don't even have to be attracted to me in the slightest amount but just communicate that and we can part ways as friends."
