There's probably no other scent that will be more important or momentous than your wedding perfume. Given how tied fragrance is to memory, there's a lot of pressure riding on the scent you choose for your wedding day. And, unlike other items you'll wear – like the veil or the shoes – your wedding perfume has the power to unlock flashbacks of some of the most special moments in a single spritz, so it's worthy of investment to find the perfect one.
Of course, alongside recapturing memories from the wedding day, finding your perfume in the run up to your big day can be an unforgettable occasion in itself. Your engagement, after all, is an opportunity to indulge in making memories with your nearest and dearest. Inviting them along to help you finesse the details, like your wedding scent, is one way to get the party started.
Thankfully, there are plenty of luxury department stores and fragrance houses who are invested in creating a lasting experience and helping you find “the one” – particularly for those looking for something unique, bespoke or exclusive. These are the wedding perfume services that are seriously worth considering to find your perfect wedding scent match.
Harrods' Salon de Parfums
Harrods' Salon de Parfums offers private access to the most exclusive and exquisite perfumes, with word-class fragrance experts on hand to guide you through the collection. The space features 25 hand-selected brands, including one so special (Henry Jacques), it's tucked behind a velvet curtain. Plus, you can level-up your chosen scent with flacon personalisation to make your perfume bottle more individual. Boadicea the Victorious offers interchangeable encasing and Bond No.9 will encrust bottles with Swarovski crystals.
If you can't find something from the salon's existing treasure trove, you'll be given the opportunity to create something semi-bespoke with Ex Nihilo's perfume-making robot. Or you can work directly with leading perfumers on an entirely bespoke creation. Le Parfum Sur Mesure gives guests the opportunity to work with legendary nose – and Guerlain's in-house perfumer – Thierry Wasser on a unique blend. You can also access Penhaligon's Bespoke, and work with master perfumer Alberto Morillas (who has created scents for Cartier, Bulgari, Gucci and Givenchy). Or you can even create a couture fragrance with Roja Dove or Henry Jacques.
From lab-grown diamonds to pearl clutches.

Chanel's Signature Scent Service
Chanel offers its Signature Scent Service nationwide, where you can book in an appointment for you and your wedding party and work with an expert on discovering the scent for you. Head to one of the brand's boutiques and you'll have access to their Les Exclusifs archive of lesser-known heroes, including timeless scents like Gardenia Les Exclusifs or Coramondel Les Exclusifs. You'll also be talked through scent extensions, like Coco Mademoiselle Intense or Allure Sensual. For the most intimate appointments, head to the brand's flagship store at Battersea Power Station to be scent matched, or visit the Chanel counter in the aforementioned Harrods Salon de Parfums.
Penhaligon's Wedding Scent Finder
Penhaligons offers an in-store wedding scent finder in participating stores, including Regent Street, King's Road and Liverpool. The service costs £50, which can be redeemed against a purchase. One of Penhaligon's fragrance experts will be on hand to take you through a fragrance profiling consultation (you'll answer a series of questions so they can narrow down your scent style) and the results will be tailored to you and the mood you want to create for your big day. You'll be offered a glass of Gusbourne, too, and the experience lasts an hour.
For something more bespoke, head to the Penhaligon's concession in Harrod's Salon de Parfum where you'll have the opportunity to work on a one of a kind creation with master perfumer Alberto Morillas (as mentioned above).
Liberty's Wedding Scent Service
Liberty has created its Fragrance Lounge with the sole purpose of some very bougie discovery. You can book in for a private consultation in one of the bespoke suites, where an expert will be on hand to help you find a scent that's tailored to you. The Wedding Scent service costs £50 for one hour and includes a glass of English sparkling wine and Charbonnel truffles, while a trained pro gets to work on finding you the perfect match. To make it extra special, you can set the mood with your own playlist of songs during the appointment. By the end, you'll leave with a recommendation card of your most-loved scents and a fragrance memento. And, if you choose to pick-up a scent, your wedding fragrance can be engraved with your names or wedding date and beautifully gift-wrapped. If you have a particular fragrance brand you know you want to explore more, Liberty also offers discovery and layering services with Creed, Ex Nihilo and DS & Durga.
Jo Malone London's Scent Your Wedding
Jo Malone London offers its Scent Your Wedding service in stores nationwide – and you can take your partner, wedding party or a special loved one to share the moment. During the complimentary session, one of the brand's fragrance stylists will talk you through the brand's hero and under-the-radar scents to help pair you with your perfect match. Not only can you choose your wedding perfume (and one to complement your partner), you can also pick up gifts for your bride tribe, groomsmen and nearest and dearest, and you can also scent your wedding with candles to fill the space with your chosen fragrance.
