Reckon you've binged every vaguely horny TV show? We have great news: Netflix have announced plans to adapt D. H. Lawrence's notably raunchy novel, Lady Chatterley's Lover, into a film. Starring none other than Emma Corrin (AKA Princess Diana in The Crown) and Jack O'Connell (AKA Cook from Skins)!
If Lady Chatterley's Lover immediately takes you back to A-Level English Literature, Netflix's adaptation will bring you back to reality with a bang. D. H. Lawrence's steamy novel, with it's litany of f-words, c-words, and oh-so crude descriptions of sex, may have been cringe-inducing as a teenager, but now? Bring it on.
And it's coming to Netflix next week, so not long to wait!

In August 2021, Netflix confirmed that an adaptation of Lady Chatterley's Lover was in the works.

They also tweeted that, "Director Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre's romance drama is a re-telling of the classic D.H. Lawrence novel about a married woman who engages in a torrid affair with the estate gamekeeper."
If you've managed not to repress your A-Level coursework on the novel, you'll remember that while it was first published in 1928, the book wasn't available in the UK until the 1960s. This was, in part, due to the book's explicit content, which was deemed as too obscene to be read. Sounds good to us.
Who will star in Lady Chatterley's Lover?
Emma Corrin, Jack O'Connell, and Matthew Duckett (A Confession) will star in the adaptation.
What have the reviews said about Lady Chatterley's Lover so far?
“The commitment and passion of its two lead performers, Emma Corrin and Jack O’Connell, carries this new version of DH Lawrence’s Lady Chatterley’s Lover,” the Guardian's review reads.
“The film is never shy of eroticism and full-on sex, if sometimes going for a slightly quaint soft-focus approach.”
Emma Corrin in particular received high praise from the Los Angeles Times, where she is described as: “coltish physicality and expressive flush [in all] scenes — whether lonely or laughing, aggravated or emboldened. It’s a true star performance, the light of intelligence practically beaming from this awakened woman’s eyes.”
