Five editors tested it to find out.
The Kylie Jenner Lip Kit Has Been Given A Glossy Update  Is It As Good As The OG

A decade ago, Kylie Jenner made her beauty debut, changing the game with the iconic Matte Lip Kit. Now, as the brand approaches its 10-year anniversary, Kylie is reimagining the cult fave via the new Glossy Lip Kit.

“The Glossy Lip Kit contains my favourite formulas, the Precision Pout Lip Liner and Supple Kiss Lip Glaze, in pre-paired shades for an easy, ready-to-go lip routine,” Kylie says on the newest addition to the Kylie Cosmetics line-up. “They're perfect for creating a contoured and defined look with a glossy finish.”

Kylie Cosmetics Glossy Lip Kit

Like the original Matte Lip Kit, the Glossy Lip Kit is a simple two-step process starting off with the Precision Pout Liner to line the lips and topping everything off with the sleek Supple Kiss Lip Glaze.

Taking the guess work out of complementary colour combos, the six shades are perfectly paired for ease. With a hydrating formula to keep your lips soft and supple for up to 12 hours and a non-drying lip liner that can be easily blended or give you sharp defined lines. It’s all your favourite elements of the OG Lip Kit, with a high-gloss shine finish. What’s not to love?

Here’s what our editors had to say when they tried it out…

Shade: Kylie

I can’t lie, as a minimalist make-up gal, the term ‘kit’ intimidated me a little, though after realising that this is simply a liner and gloss combo I fell in love with the whole concept of having both in one neat package. Kylie’s lip kits are such an iconic product that I was genuinely excited to finally try its glossy new update and I love that they’ve retained the OG packaging that won beauty fans over almost 10 (!) years back.

Trying the lip kit in Kylie’s signature best-selling namesake shade, I used the soft lip pencil to slightly overline my lips, with there being no waxiness which meant it glided on with ease. The gloss itself had impressive colour pay-off and felt super moisturising to wear. Though the shade came up a lighter pink than I had expected, I’m obsessed with the formula and would love to try some of their other shades that might work better with my olive skin tone.

I’ve always loved the signature lip-drip packaging. It’s sleek and eye-catching, and the small gloss tubes with clean, minimal branding inside give it a modern, polished appeal. The Precision Pout lip liner is pigmented and glides on easily to define the lips without tugging or drying them out. The Supple Kiss Lip Glaze adds shine and applies evenly with the brush applicator, delivering a glossy finish that makes my lips look full and glossy. The lip liner is deep, bold, and flattering on my complexion, definitely wearable for everyday, but with enough impact to stand out for a more dramatic look. One thing I really appreciate is that it’s a 2-in-1 set, but both products work just as well on their own. The liner pairs easily with other glosses or lipsticks. It's a strong go-to when I want shine and shape.

My mum never let me buy into hype trends, and my lunch money definitely didn’t stretch to a Kylie Lip Kit, so this product already had a nostalgic win with the 14-year-old living in my brain.

The gloss itself was gorgeous. It has a very opaque formula and the colour was really cute so I loved that, and it was super glossy. The pencil applied really smooth and was easy to glide on with no tugging. But… the colours were way too similar, leaving me with one big block of colour on my lips which is not my look. It's 2025 but the duo was giving foundation lips.

Overall, it’s a solid product, I just wouldn’t pair the liner and gloss together, so it loses points from me.

Shade: Comes Naturally

I use some sort of product on my lips everyday without fail, balms, glosses, lipsticks so I’m always keen to try a new lip enhancing product. I was well aware of the Kylie Cosmetics lip kit hype but had never actually tried it before, until now…

I tried Kylie’s Glossy Lip Kit in shade ‘Comes Naturally’. Packaged in the brand’s signature sleek box, the duo includes a creamy lip liner and a high-shine gloss that claim to work together for a plump, polished look without a sticky feel. Firstly, I love that these products come as a pair, I quite often use a gloss but I rarely use liner even though I like the way it looks so as these come as a pair I think it will encourage me to use liner more.

As I don’t use liner very often, it took me a minute to warm up to but once I got the hang of it the liner was very smooth, making it easy to define and overline my lips for a fuller pout. The liner was pigmented enough that I could probably wear it on its own, for a more natural look but I love a glossy lip so I added the gloss in top. I really loved the colour and the high shine finish although it didn’t feel as hydrating as I would like and despite the claims of a non-sticky finish it did feel quite heavy. The longevity however was impressive for a gloss and because of the liner underneath it faded evenly over the next couple of hours.

Whether you’re a die-hard Kylie fan or just on the hunt for a new super shiny gloss, this kit is a worthy addition to your makeup bag, just maybe start with a little balm underneath.

Shade: Candy Pink

I'm the laziest lip person ever. I don’t have a go-to lip combo and usually just wear lip balm, so I was excited to try the Kylie Jenner Glossy Lip Kit as it’s a cute duo I can put in my handbag. The lip pencil was very easy to apply, I didn’t have to try too hard and I like the pink shade as it’s quite natural but buildable.

I was a little bit scared of the lip glaze as the Candy Pink shade was very bright for somebody who doesn’t often wear it, but it’s not as bright on the lips as it is in the tube. I would love the gloss to be a tiny bit more hydrating as the texture is a little bit sticky and feels like it would apply better with some lip balm underneath.

I would definitely use this as a lip combo, I really like the colour and it was really easy to apply.
