Stop the presses! Knives Out 3 is coming — and it's reincarnating the nichest of bizarre leading men trends. That's right — the hot priest is back in town.
Josh O'Connor is, after his sexy intensity in Challengers and his wrenching soulfulness in La Chimera, Hollywood's undisputed It man of the year. And by the looks of things, next year will be no different. O'Connor is set to star in the next installment of Knives Out — and based on the first images from the set, he will be donning his clerical vestments and, according to pretty much everyone on the internet, looking hotter than ever. It seems pretty certain that this role will solidify the “hot priest” as a bonafide pop culture phenomenon — after all, who can forget Andrew Scott's earth-shattering, history-making turn as the Hot Priest (we don't remember if his character had a name, honestly) in Fleabag? Or Samantha's short-lived crush on her own Hot Priest in Sex and the City?
Enough about hot priests for now — what else do we know about Knives Out 3?
Well, writer and director Rian Johnson recently confirmed that production has begun. So exciting. The post included a picture of Daniel Craig's latest look as Benoit Blanc – he's sporting some long, luscious locks and a grey beard – and fans are obsessed already.
Rian wrote: “Aaaaand we’re off! Today is day 1 of shooting on the next Benoit Blanc mystery ‘Wake Up Dead Man’ - see you on the other side.”

We're super excited and intrigued for what's to come. If Knives Out and its sequel Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is anything to go by, we're in for some mad detective hi-jinks. Previous stars who have starred in the Knives Out franchise include Chris Evans, Ana De Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Collette, Edward Norton, Kate Hudson, Kathryn Hahn, Janelle Monáe, Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline, even a fun cameo from Hugh Grant. The list goes on.

The confirmed cast so far is an absolute doozy. Alongside Daniel Craig as Benoit Blanc and the previously mentioned Josh O'Connor, we have Andrew Scott (the OG hot priest — please let him be Benoit's lover!), Glenn Close, Priscilla actor Cailee Spaeny, Mila Kunis, Kerry Washington (Little Fires Everywhere), Daryl McCormack (Bad Sisters), Jeremy Renner, Dune star Josh Brolin and Easy A's Thomas Haden Church.
According to reports, Mila Kunis was seen on the first day of filming wearing what looked like a sherriff's hat on set, walking to film a scene with Daniel Craig with Josh O'Connor beside her. Intriguing.

Exactly what kind of murder mystery Rian Johnson's third outing will entail is being kept tightly under wraps for now, but we'll keep you posted.

If the information in the teaser clip is to be believed, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery will drop on Netflix at some point in 2025. We'll update this article when we know a specific date.
