Floral shoes for spring? Groundbreaking. No, but really. Especially when you combine them with Katie Holmes's favourite new styling trick: pairing white shoes with an all black ’fit.
On March 4, the perennial New York City fashion It girlie stepped out in a draped black column dress (with pockets!), but the real star of the show was the flowery Barbie shoes.
And let's be realistic… we'll be living in number 8.

Holmes paired her LBD with black peep-toe pumps that were adorned with a white camellia on the toe, adding just a touch of colour contrast to her otherwise all-black look. Her dress was sleeveless, with a subtle draped detail near the bodice and a high neckline. The actor kept her brown hair sleek and long over her shoulders, and her only jewellery was a pair of dangly earrings and her hoop nose ring.
It's not Katie Holmes's first black-and-white moment recently. She used a similar styling trick in February, when she paired her lacy black gown with white strappy sandals and a white clutch. Adding a white shoe to a black outfit is the perfect way to get the effect of a pop of colour, without sacrificing the look's sleek monochrome. And it is a trick I will be copying immediately.

It's a stunningly seamless blend of silver and brunette.
