Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, has been spotted out in public for the first time since December 2023.
She was seen on Monday, March 4, in the passenger seat of an Audi being driven by her mother, Carole Middleton, near Windsor Castle. She was wearing sunglasses and sitting upright. Peep the evidence on TMZ.
Ever since Kensington Palace announced that the princess would be undergoing a somewhat vague “abdominal surgery,” the public has wondered why there haven’t been more frequent or clear updates about her health.
On January 17, Kensington Palace announced that the princess had undergone a “planned abdominal surgery” and would spend 10 to 14 days in the hospital recovering. The statement attempted to prepare the public for Princess Kate to take a long break from public life, saying that she would not resume royal duties until after the Easter holiday on March 31.
But by late February, the internet's attention had turned to the whereabouts of Kate Middleton, with plenty of wild theories emerging about the reasons behind her supposedly ‘mystery’ disappearance.
These ranged from the worrying to the absurd (enter: the BBL theories). In fact, a spokesperson for the Princess of Wales told Page Six on Thursday, February 29, that she is doing well.
“Kensington Palace made it clear in January the timelines of the princess’s recovery and we’d only be providing significant updates,” they said. “That guidance stands.”
And on Monday comes the new photo – prompting plenty more discussion, no doubt. Either way, maybe the new, grainy car picture will put all this rubbish to bed. Probably not, but maybe! At least we know that the worst didn’t happen, and it’s good to see she's got her mum by her side.
