Recently Kate Middleton surprised us with new curtain bangs—a fresh and exciting look for a royal whose signature hairstyle is on mood boards around the world. And now she's already onto another look, with a new fringe that's more visible and even shorter than before.
In early October, Catherine, Princess of Wales, visited Cardiff, Wales, for the beginning of Black History Month to meet with members of the Windrush Cymru Elders, Black History Cymru 365, and the Ethnic Minority Youth Forum for Wales. For the occasion she wore navy blue trousers and jacket, a white blouse, and her new hairstyle.
While curtain bangs frame the face and end at about ear level, Kate Middleton's new bangs feature much shorter strands. These reach, if at all, just to the eyebrows.
Then, towards the outside, the bangs really do get longer and longer - until a large step is then visible to the rest of her long brown hair.
When it comes to hair changes, the Princess of Wales usually tries to do them without causing too much of a fuss. Even with her hair colours, she makes only very subtle adjustments, which allow her to make a more significant change gradually over time. With these bangs, however, it really does change her hair shape dramatically.
The beauty of this cut is that you can always fall back on curtain bangs, which would also grow out quickly if you didn't end up loving your look. So if you're a fan of this new cut, consider going one step shorter at your next visit to the hairdresser.
