Jennifer Aniston has opened up about her sex scenes between her and Jon Hamm's characters, Alex Levy and Paul Marks, in The Morning Show season 3 – and how the idea of having an intimacy co-ordinator involved was not particularly appealing to her.

There are some pretty steamy scenes between Jennifer and Jon in the latest season of the beloved show – which dropped on Apple TV+ in October 2023 – of which Aniston says that behind the scenes, Hamm was "such a gentleman."

"They asked us if we wanted an intimacy coordinator," Aniston explained to Variety in a joint interview with her The Morning Show co-star Reese Witherspoon. "I’m from the olden days, so I was like, 'What does that mean?' They said, 'Where someone asks you if you’re OK,' and I’m like, 'Please, this is awkward enough!'

"We’re seasoned — we can figure this one out," she added.

Jennifer Aniston also credited director Mini Leder and Jon for making her feel "protected" on set, sharing that she "never felt uncomfortable" filming their intimate scene.

"Jon was such a gentleman, always —I mean every move, every cut, 'You OK?'" she said. "It was also very choreographed."

The show's director Leder previously gave details of the scene with Variety. "It was a closed set, and two very grown-up actors who really understood the nature of the storytelling and were very much a part of it," she revealed.

"We wanted it to be sensitive. We wanted it to be sexy. We wanted it to be adult. We wanted it to be emotional. They really let go. They’re great actors. And there you have it."

Leder continued, "It’s a really interesting episode: It’s sort of a rom-com episode, but it’s also a very important, political episode and a turning point in the series."
