It's the role critics have called an "anti-vanity verchile" for Jennifer Aniston and perhaps the most challenging character we've seen her play - no makeup, no blow dry, no LBD.

Cake tells the story of Claire Bennett, a woman who is left with physical damage to her face and body after surviving a car crash. Since the accident she suffers from a very short temper, continuous headaches and sleepless nights, lacks empathy for others and is losing everyone around her - even her therapist.

The film could not be further from the rom-com, we're-here-for-a-laugh genre that Aniston is so famed for, instead it's an uncomforable but powerful watch exploring the difficulties of surviving a tragedy.

GLAMOUR met up with the leading lady to ask her about wearing no makeup, what attracted her to the role and who she'd like to work with next:

Cake is out nationwide on 20 February.
