If you can’t grow long legs, store-bought is fine. At five-foot-one, Jenna Ortega proves that petite girls can be as stylish as the tall, willowy models, but sometimes she may want a boost to elevate her style, literally. Lately, that’s been in the form of platform heels, bordering on stilts.
As Jenna makes the rounds to promote the upcoming second season of her smash hit Netflix series, Wednesday, she’s been wearing heels with the thickest, most vertigo-inducing soles—the kind that would roll a lesser starlet’s ankle – like an absolute pro. It’s seriously impressive. On Monday, August 4th, she stepped out for a taping of Good Morning America in a pencil skirt and puff-shouldered blazer accessorised with a Carmen Sandiego-ish wide-brimmed hat, all while teetering on Louboutins, the signature red bottoms the outfit’s only pop of colour. (Side note: Jenna Ortega would be a perfect Carmen Sandiego, right?)
Looks like she’s happy with the nude nails look, a subtler and more refined nod to goth’s anti-fashion spirit than your typical black polish.
Wednesday season two will feature another petite queen, Lady Gaga. Perhaps they've been doing platform training together.
A week earlier, Jenna wore even higher platform heels, from Andrea Wazen, and another fitted grey suit, by Ann Demeulemeester, for a press day, as seen on her stylist Enrique Melendez’s Instagram. Short girl is a state of mind, not a state of being.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Jenna teased what fans can expect from the show’s bigger, bolder second batch of episodes. “Netflix has a lot more trust this time around. So we were able to do things on a grander scale and were able to spend more time on sequences,” she revealed, adding, “There are also a lot of new cast members like Steve Buscemi and Billie Piper, and doing a scene with them pushes you further because they’re so gifted. We also play on the excitement that Wednesday got from having saved the school in the first season. So it’s nice to see her shut down again out of pure agony [from the attention].” Wednesday Addams in agony? Yes, please.
