One of my worst nightmares would probably being chained up to a total stranger for days on end. And in Handcuffed: Last Pair Standing, that's exactly the situation 18 contestants found themselves in. The new Jonathan Ross reality show saw nine pairs remaining cuffed together for as long as they possibly could for the chance to win the £100,000 prize.
In the epic finale, Jonathan took the final pairs to Loch Lomand for a “Mr and Mrs” quiz to test how well they knew each other. The remaining three, Charlie and Rob, Tilly and Anthony and Morag and Angie, were then tasked with racing all the way from Scotland to Wales and then to London with only a train ticket and no money or phones. It all got very Race Across the World.
So, which couple won the final race?
Women have become equal players in their downfall.

Who won Handcuffed: Last Pair Standing?
In the end, Rob and Charlie were crowned the first season's winners!
"It was such a tight race and I really didn’t know that we were going to win. It definitely wasn’t in the bag. I was stunned, then really excited. It was a tough final," said Charlie of their win.
Rob, 32, an adult content creator from Staffordshire, and Charlie, 44, is a practical homemaker from West Sussex, initially seemed like an odd pair, but in the end, they became surprisingly close. "It felt like winning with my older sister!" said Rob.
The pair will not only take away £50,000 each, they'll also take away some life lessons.
“I learned a lot. I learned that money doesn’t always buy happiness,” Rob reflected. “It’s important to spend a lot of time with your friends and family, and that I was putting work before everything. I was working too hard and not having an equal balance. And Charlie taught me how to make sourdough!”
Added Charlie, “I’ve learned so much from Rob. He’s such a gentle giant and a kind person. It’s lovely now that we don’t have to keep our friendship secret. We can meet up and we’ve been texting a lot. He’s been chatting to my husband Simon! I’ve been chatting to his mum! He and his family are coming over to our house this Friday night to celebrate. I learned so much from walking beside him. It was a once in a lifetime experience.”
Are the other pairings still in contact?
We don't know yet — but hopefully, Channel 4 will give us a reunion update very soon, as we would love to know if these pairs remain friends. Or, of course, separated like opposing magnets the second those cuffs were unlocked!
Will there be a season 2?
We certainly hope so. Although there's no word yet on a second season, it's been a hugely popular show, with episode one landing in Channel 4’s top 10 unscripted streaming launches of all time. Plus, the show has logged over 1 million views on streaming to date. Here's hoping we are all treated to a round two!
