Yesterday, Hailey Bieber chucked fans a new Get Ready With Me on her YouTube channel, in honour of Valentine's Day, where she shared the beauty products she'd be using to lean into the theme.

Addressing an enforced day of love, Hailey conceded, "I really like Valentine's Day but I do understand that for some people it can feel a little bit sad and maybe a little bit lonely. But I also think it's a really fun day to be able to get together with your girlfriends and just have a wine night and eat really yummy food, or watch romcoms. I've definitely been there and done that as well.

She also used the opportunity to sit down and have a chat about what she'd been up to lately (including addressing that new Hailey Bieber bob chop that's been breaking the beauty internet).

“First thing I'm going to do is I'm going to clip this hair back so that it stays out of the way. I got a new cut that I've been having a lot of fun with,” she explained before clarifying, “I actually had been thinking about doing this cut for weeks, and weeks, and weeks. And I was so back and forth about it because I had finally grown my hair to a place where I felt like it was super healthy. And I've always worn extensions on and off, so I was like am I about to sacrifice the length that I've finally got it to? And basically I just finally decided to go for it because I was like, 'it's hair, it'll grow back, I wanna do it.' And I'm so happy I did because I love it!”

But between detailing her glow-up, Hailey used the video as a moment to share where she was at mentally, highlighting how you can feel lighthearted and low at the same time, no matter what others might see on social media.

“I don't know what's been in the air for me a little bit lately, but I've definitely been feeling a little bit down," the model admitted. “I think it's a combination of things. Sometimes when I'm filming these videos I feel like it's a good opportunity to just be able to talk and be honest. There's good days and bad days and not everyday feels this way,” she said, letting followers in on the reality of receiving hateful barbs online on the daily. “But I could read a comment that really throws me for a loop and makes me feel sad,” she continued honestly. ”It really affects me so deeply because it feels really loud and really intense and so yeah, I definitely struggle with that." So take note, haters. We're not here to tear people down.

But, refusing to let it keep her from feeling good, Hailey bounced back, declaring “Next step. Moving on!”

“I want my makeup today to look super natural, and the skin especially, which is kind of always what I go for,” Hailey told followers, clearly enjoying getting a little more glam. “I just like to feel like my skin can breathe. I'm gonna start with bronzer. This is the Milk Matte bronzer stick in the colour Baked,” she said before giving her makeup artist, Mary Philipps, a shout-out for her viral backwards makeup hack, which involves applying your contour before your foundation.

'I'm blown away because it looks so seamless, so sculpted, so glowy and there's no lines.'

“I'm gonna just go in and as everybody knows, this is the Mary Phillips trick,” Hailey explained. “She's the one that taught me this trick, I'm sure other people have also done it but I learned this from her. She has always done my makeup like that, ever since I first started doing my makeup with her and I'm glad that people are now getting into it and getting into her vibes. She's amazing.”

Next she followed with a little concealer, “this is the Milk Future Fluid in 9N,” she said blending it out with a beauty sponge. For foundation (from Chanel) she mixed in some of her Peptide Glazing Fluid. “I always do that…It's literally my favourite hack,” she said using a big brush to blend it all in. For brows she called on Anastasia Beverly Hills' Brow Freeze for a natural fluffed-out look.

“Next I'm gonna do my cheek, I'm gonna combine two different colours... This is the Milk lip and cheek tint that I love, that I use often… So I'm gonna do Smirk first which is like this really pretty rosy, nudey pink,” she said.

Explaining her thought process behind the colours she revealed, “when I'm thinking of Valentine's Day, I'm thinking ”romantic" and “pinched cheeks”. Pinks and reds, and those kind of tones, and so that's what I'm sticking with."

“Ok, so this is the colour Muse [a deep burgundy], she continued, turning back to her blush. ”Who doesn't want to be sombody's muse on Valentine's Day? But also, you can be your own muse on Valentine's Day, as you should be. I really like this colour because I think when you look at it, you feel like maybe it's gonna be intense, but then you put it on and it's just such a nice pop of colour on the cheeks."

For eyes, she opted for a “rosey, pinky-purple-y vibe eyeshadow” applying it with a big fluffy brush “to get it all over my lid,” she noted. “Now I'm going to do this, in a similar colour tone, a sparkle,” she explained. “I'm just gonna do it all over, such a pretty sparkle. This is the Hourglass Scattered Light Glitter Eyeshadow in Aura which is so, so pretty.” She finished off her eyes with a light coat of the Milk Kush mascara. “Gonna do a tiny bit on the bottom today because I didn't do any eyeshadow or liner on the bottom because I'm keeping it super light and natural,” she added.

And for lips, “this is the Cork liner from MAC,” she said. Basically I'm gonna use this because all I wanna do is contour my lips a tiny bit, really lightly. I'm gonna go back in with Muse that I put on my cheeks and just put it on my finger then tap it in so it starts to look like a stain. It definitely makes me feel Valentine's Day-y. Finally over the top I'm gonna put some peptide lip treatment," she said. “Then I'm gonna go one more time with a little bit more of the Muse. So pretty. I think that's it for the makeup.”

For finishing touches, she explained, “I am gonna just mess with this hair, just a teeny bit to give it a little zhuzh. I do like with this short hair when it flips out a little bit at the ends. So I think that's gonna be my vibe for Valentine's Day. And then I'm gonna pop on some earrings as a final look.”

Her verdict? "I really like it, I'm really happy with it. The hair, everything, it just feels good". Glad you're feeling yourself, Ms Bieber (looks good, too xx).
