H&M Studio's Mini Summer Capsule collection represents two firsts for the Scandinavian high-street label. Not only has each piece in the edit – which launches today, Thursday 4 July – been made using Regenerative Organic Certified® cotton (more on that later), but its very curated nature gives the already-legendary Studio edits a whole new air of exclusivity.
H&M Studio's Mini Summer Capsule – which has recently been spotted on Mia Regan, Iwana Cristal, Millie Hannah, Edie Liberty Rose and Emma Winder – is comprised of just six pieces of relaxed beachwear, making holiday dressing entirely fuss-free. There are two tonal maxi dresses suited to both evening and daytime wear and two beach cover-ups, plus a top-and-skirt co-ord. That's it. Channelling a major Med mood, it combines a feeling of wanderlust with an emphasis on precious craft.

“With this capsule we wanted to create an edit of throw-on-and-go holiday looks that can take you from the beach to drinks on the terrace to dinner al fresco," Ann-Sofie Johansson, head of design womenswear and creative advisor at H&M told us. A mission which has definitely been achieved, most notably with our highlight of the collection.
Adorned in floral appliqué detailing, the pale sunset-hued strappy maxi dress is GLAMOUR's pick of the launch, almost guaranteed to sell out thanks to its tactile-yet-delicate finish, flared skirt and sheer panelling. Sheer fabric has been big news on the evening-wear scene for several seasons now, but we're loving its transition to the holiday scene with thanks to Victoria Beckham, Acne Studios, Valentino and Stella McCartney's SS24 collections. And now, H&M Studio.

Similarly relaxed in silhouette is the black halter-neck maxi dress, which also has flared, tiered skirt and spaghetti strap ties, as well as a deep V-neck and open back. Perfect for making a subtly dramatic statement, it pairs perfectly with flat sandals and oversized earrings, and can be layered over a bikini or white tank top.

Elsewhere, two aforementioned kaftan styles add options for the beach: a short black-and-white printed mini dress that has exaggerated sleeves and a high neck, as well as a longer, tiered sheer maxi with short sleeves and a tie neck.
Finally, there’s the co-ordinating bralette and flared skirt two-piece set, embroidered with abstract appliqué swirls in a sunset shade of apricot. Such a summer dream.
Of course, the fact that all six pieces are pleasingly sustainably crafted is what really sets this collection apart. "Versatility and durability are key concerns for our design team, and they were determined to create the ultimate summer dress our customers will be reaching for year after year, in a high-quality cotton that conforms to Regenerative Organic Certified standards,” Ann-Sofie Johansson added, speaking of the fabric.
Regenerative Organic Certified® cotton is cotton grown without the use of artificial pesticides or fertilisers and contains no genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Regenerative Organic Certified® farming focuses on animal welfare, restoring soil and the lives of farmers. Let the guilt-free shopping commence.
If you're not familiar with H&M Studio, it's H&M’s most directional, high-fashion offering. It launched back in 2013 and has been developed by an in-house design team at the brand’s Stockholm atelier over the years since. H&M Studio collection drops are unveiled multiple times a year – most recently, H&M Studio Resort SS24 and H&M Studio AW23 – almost on-par with the brand's designer collaborations (think: H&M X Simone Rocha, H&M X Rabanne; H&M X Mugler) when it comes to demand.
This season's H&M Studio mini capsule is available online at hm.com from today, July 4 (local variations may occur).
