The Great British Bake Off returns to UK screens this week, just in time to help see us through the drizzly – and frankly uninspiring – start to autumn. And as perhaps the ultimate form of wholesome telly, we've never felt like we needed TGBBO 2024 more.
Following underdog PE and science teacher Matty Edgell's win last year, we're feeling primed for Bake Off's 15th season which will see a dozen of the UK's best bakers go head to head to win the approval of Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith in hopes of securing the title of star baker each week.
So when is The Great British Bake Off 2024 start date and what time is it on TV?
Here's all the details and everything in between ahead of the first episode.
The iconic white tent is back to see contestants through the inevitable cake chaos and bread week breakdowns.

The Great British Bake Off 2024 judges
Of course, it wouldn't be Bake Off without our faves Paul Hollywood and Dame Prue Leith returning to their roles.
Paul Hollywood has been a key part of the show since joining for the very first season back in 2010, while Dame Prue Leith joined in 2017 to replace Mary Berry, quickly winning fans over.
In a recent interview, however, Prue admitted that she was considering leaving the cast, saying “I was in a new house and I hardly saw the garden, I hardly saw my family and I never had a summer holiday."
Thankfully for us, producers managed to convince Prue to stay, with her adding: “I got what I wanted, which is to do less. I’m so grateful to Love Production because they’ve been very accommodating.”
The Great British Bake Off 2024 hosts
Likewise, The Great British Bake Off 2024 will see Alison Hammond returning for her second year hosting the show alongside Noel Fielding.
We were obsessed with the vibes the pair brought last year, so are excited to see the duo return for a second season together, no doubt making sure to check in on this year's contestants in amongst all the inevitable chaos of the kitchen.
Speaking on the second season, Hammond recently told Best magazine: “It's so much nicer coming back into the fold, it felt like a family seeing everybody and it was so nice. I felt more comfortable slipping straight back into it. We do have a laugh.”
A mechanic, a midwife and a farm manager walked into a tent…
