Firefly Lane season 2 - both instalments - have now been out on Netflix for a week, with the second fix of episodes dropping on 27 March. News that filming for Firefly Lane season 2 had kicked off was revealed via Katherine Heigl's Instagram last year, with the actor sharing a photo with the caption: "So I am in the wonderful city of Vancouver busy filming the second season of #FireflyLane Yay! Look out for it coming your way on @netflix in 2022!" and it seems that, judging by the reaction from fans, it hasn't disappointed.
Season 1 dropped back in February 2022, and has since built up a cult following, with Netflix revealing that 49million people tuned in during the first month of its release and season 2 immediately began trending on Netflix when it dropped.

Who stars in Firefly lane season 2?
Katherine Heigl and Sarah Chalke have returned as Tully and Kate, along with all other core cast members.
Ahead of filming, Roan Curtis, who plays teenage Kate, wrote on Instagram: “Ooh baby let’s GOOO!! So excited to be reunited with all these wonderful humans for another season.” And Ali Skovbye, who plays teenage Tully, wrote: “See you guys soon!”.
Beau Garrett, Tully’s mum, added: “Officially excited. Thanks to all of you who watched, supported, tweeted, Instagrammed, messaged and shared. Can’t wait to do this all again.”
What will the plot be?
The drama is based on a novel of the same name by Kristin Hannah, which does have a sequel to keep guiding the plot.
Spoiler alert, season one ended on multiple cliffhangers - Johnny is shown to be badly injured, Tully quits her job, and a flash-forward to the present shows that she's no longer on good terms with Kate, and Bud is dead.
And season 2 gives us an update on exactly what happens between Tully and Kate, as their seemingly unbreakable bond seemed to be shattered in season 1. Speaking in a video ahead of the release, Sarah said: “We can say that it's family related and has nothing to do with Johnny.”
