After a quick scheduling update, we can safely confirm when Fallout season 2 is hitting screens.
In recent years, we’ve been spoiled with live-action video game adaptations — from The Last of Us to Arcane. And while we hate to pick favourites, we have to admit we are particularly pumped for season 2 of Fallout.
Based on one of the greatest video games of all time, Fallout plunges into a world of haves and have-nots — where there’s basically nothing left to have. Set in an alternate-history America ravaged by nuclear war in 2077, this post-apocalyptic saga mixes 1950s retro-futurism with a deadly, irradiated wasteland teeming with mutants, raiders, and complex factions like the Brotherhood of Steel. Survival, exploration and tough moral choices drive the story in a darkly satirical world. Basically, we're obsessed.
The latest chapter kicked off this week with an episode on the streaming platform, featuring plucky Lucy MacLean (Ella Purnell) and the Ghoul (Walton Goggins) as they journey to the iconic post-apocalyptic locale of New Vegas in search of Lucy’s father, Hank (Kyle MacLachlan).
There’s been plenty of speculation about how the series will handle the multiple endings of the original game, with showrunner Jonathan Nolan promising a ‘delicious’ solution that honours the choices players made in the source material.
There's something for everyone this chilly season.

Where can you watch Fallout?
Fallout seasons 1 and 2 are available on Amazon Prime Video.
What happens in season 1 of Fallout?
Okay, Vault dwellers, put down your Pip-Boys and pay attention, here’s your Fallout season 1 recap.
Leading the charge is Lucy MacLean, a Vault-raised survivor discovering the hard way that the surface is anything but safe. She’s joined by The Ghoul/Cooper Howard, a radiation-mutated ex-Hollywood star with a tragic past (and a literal hole where his nose used to be), and Maximus (Aaron Moten), the conflicted Brotherhood squire trying to uphold knightly ideals in a lawless wasteland.
Together, this unlikely trio treks across what used to be California, navigating betrayals, deadly traps, and near-certain death at every turn.
It’s a family affair, too: Lucy’s father Hank and brother Norm (Moisés Arias) are also doing their best to survive. Meanwhile, Lee Moldaver (Sarita Choudhury), the enigmatic New California Republic commander, hints at secrets that stretch far beyond the present, and Betty Pearson (Leslie Uggams) transforms from Vault councillor to the queen of her own brand of bureaucratic chaos.
Season 1 wraps by pointing us toward New Vegas, teasing an even wilder — and deadlier — season 2. Expect everything from high-stakes showdowns to, yes, zombified Elvis impersonators.
How many episodes will there be in Fallout season 2?
Fallout Season 2 will consist of eight episodes, matching the first season. Each episode runs between 45 and 75 minutes, giving us plenty of post-apocalyptic chaos to dig into.
When will Fallout season 2 come out?
The first episode of Fallout Season 2 was originally slated for December 17, but it arrived a bit early on December 16 at 6 pm PT / 9 pm ET. For UK viewers, that means it’ll be available just after midnight on the 17th — basically from 2am. Christmas came early in the Wasteland, it seems!
