American Horror Story's Emma Roberts has reportedly apologised after her former co-star publicly called her out for a demeaning and transphobic remark she is said to have made on the set of AHS: 1984.
In an Instagram Live, actor, advocate, and businesswoman Angelica Ross recounted a comment Emma allegedly made while they were working together: she is said to have whined (in jest) that Angelica was “being mean” to her — Angelica clarified that comment wasn't the problem — and after their director told the two “ladies” to be polite, Roberts allegedly asked, “Don’t you mean lady?”
As a trans woman, Angelica said the alleged comment “made her blood boil”.
Healthcare models are still centred around cisgender white men, which should worry us all.

Angelica then said she refused to talk to Emma for the rest of their time working together. She also implied that Roberts displayed iffy behaviour toward others in the cast, saying she'd “been playing mind games with everybody on the set.”

(Though Angelica used only initials while telling her story, it was immediately and unambiguously clear who she was talking about.)
After Angelica revealed the incident, the internet lit up with viewers calling out Emma Roberts for her alleged behaviour – but Angelica was quick to denounce threats of violence, saying that accountability was enough.

While Emma didn't address any of the backlash publicly, Angelica says she called her to apologise, which the Pose star thanked her for on Twitter. “Thank you @RobertsEmma for calling and apologising, recognising your behaviour was not that of an ally,” she wrote.

In her statement, Angelica also implied that Emma had expressed a desire to use her platform to support social justice and to “do better” in the future, so we may see some statement soon.
