MAFS Australia is never short of drama, but one thing we didn't see coming was the falling out between power couple Jamie and Dave.

Despite being suitably loved up at the start of the series and seemingly one of the strongest couples of the experiment, the cracks in the pair's relationship started showing after Jamie revealed she was in love with her husband though the same sentiment was notably not returned by Dave.

Things were further complicated during couple swap week when Dave spent time with Veronica while Jamie went to live with Adrian, with Jamie being left in tears over fears her marriage might not go the distance.

So where do things stand between the pair and are Dave and Veronica together now? We finally have answers as MAFS' Jamie, Dave and Veronica have all spoken out on the situation – here's what we know.

Needless to say, spoilers ahead!

Are Dave and Veronica together? What actually happened?

After getting paired up for the couple swap week of MAFS Australia, Dave and Veronica seemed to get on incredibly well, with one scene even seeing the pair laughing in bed together, with viewers definitely picking up on a vibe between the pair.

MAFS' Jamie on the rumours

Speaking on the rumours of an affair, Jamie said in an interview "[Veronica] didn’t put my mind at ease. I don’t think Veronica knows how to be a friend. She had made comments that she thought highly of Dave… obviously she was flirting her a** off."

Dave's take

Amid the speculation Dave has finally spoken out on the situation too, making where he stands very clear. The MAFS Australia star told Chattr “I’m not going to sleep with someone jumping in my bed for one or two nights, it’s not how it works, especially when I’m married to someone else.”

He added that he was "totally committed" to Jamie during the experiment, explaining "It’s a bit ridiculous that people would think that, but yeah, it definitely goes against my morals."

What Veronica's said

But what did Veronica have to say about it all?

Well, in an interview with Yahoo the MAFS Australia cast member made very clear where she was at with the Dave and Jamie situation.

“I find it so hilarious that this whole thing is circulating in this way. I've actually been abstinent for almost two years," she said.

“I think everyone is just looking for someone to blame, to be honest, and I'm an easy target given how everything's been unfolding for me recently.”

On the logistics of it, Veronica added "Also, you have to remember, I'd just been back from Melbourne, I did the retreat, did the dinner party, did the commitment ceremony, and I was exhausted. So to hang out with someone else was quite refreshing. That's all it was."

Despite the apparently unfounded rumours, Veronica went on to speak very highly of Dave, explaining "We get on. So it's good. I am having a good time. I'm not going to deny that. It's a stark contrast to my relationship with Eliot."

Ultimately after the experiment neither MAFS' Veronica and Eliot nor Jamie and Dave managed to make things work, with both pairs breaking up before the finale episode.

Speaking on the decision, Jamie said in an interview "You can't glorify bare minimum behaviour. You can't say yes to subpar treatment. We all deserved better – and I think a lot of us were settling."

We hear you, Jamie!

She explained “I do think he respected my emotions. But I don't think he liked being the bad guy. He thought it was easier to keep me sweet – but when you're not honest, you actually end up becoming the worst guy.”

While we're sad things didn't work out for the two it definitely seems like it was for the best on both sides.
