Christmas Day is just around the corner, and whether you're going all out or keeping it chilled, playing with makeup and trying a new trend or two is always fun.
This year, we've been treated to some of the most creative eyeshadow and eyeliner trends on TikTok. From LED liner to embellished lids, there truly is something for everyone with these fun looks — plus they're super versatile to see you right through to the new year.
There's even been a TikTok Christmas makeup filter doing the rounds with eye shadow, eyeliner, blush and lip design ideas to give us plenty of makeup inspo.
We scoured TikTok to find some of the coolest Christmas eyeshadow and eyeliner looks, including the cutest snowman, glittery lids and cranberry eyeliner, which we'll never tire of — ranging from beginner level to total pro.
Embellished lids
Jewels and gems were never just reserved for our nails, they work perfectly in place of eye shadow. We love this multi-coloured embellished lid look paired with a red lip on Embla Wigum at the beginning of her video. Grab some lash glue (we love the Sweed clear adhesive) and some colourful jewels from Amazon and get creative.

Cold girl makeup
Yep, TikTok was obsessed with looking cold this year. And luckily (or unluckily) the UK has been freezing so we barely need makeup to nail this one. Mia Moore mastered this look into something wearable and festive with plenty of blush, a frosty silver lid and tons of lip gloss.

Gold eyeliner
It doesn't get much more festive than gold eyeliner and look is both minimal and super impactful. Bex used the Makeup By Mario Master Metals Palette Eyeshadow Palette mixed with the liquid drops to turn it into a liquid shadow and give it extra impact.

LED liner
If traditional festive colours aren't really your vibe then we highly recommend trying LED liner, which is basically neon hues that, with a few tricks, really pop. Monica's tutorial gives a step-by-step run through of exactly how to create this epic look, and it's actually more doable than it looks. You're going to want to pull out some incredible neon shadows for this like OPV's Loose Pigment.

Wednesday effect
We've not been quite as obsessed with a TV show — or its characters — as we have with "Wednesday" on Netflix. That's why we predict there will be plenty more soft goth looks this Christmas and well into the new year, and we particularly love this tutorial from Noor.

Simple sparkle
If you're more in beginner territory when it comes to eye makeup, fear not because you can still get creative with your makeup. Laetitia shows that a neutral base shade, an ultra sparkly shadow and some lashes can be one of the most beautiful makeup looks this festive season. We love the Makeup By Mario Master Crystal Reflector or e.l.f. Glitter Melt Liquid Eyeshadow Bling Bling for this look.

Snowman liner
OK, this one is definitely for the more experienced liquid liner users out there but it's well worth the effort — just look how cute it is! Grab your favourite black liquid liner and then and bright white like NYX Professional Makeup Epic Wear Semi Permanent Liquid Liner to stand out against the graphic liner.

Cranberry eyeliner
If there's one colour that symbolises Christmas, it's red; cranberry red, more specifically. This look is perfect if you prefer more of an understated look but still want to do something a little different to stand out during the festivities. The L'Oréal Paris Matte Signature Liquid Eyeliner in Burgundy is perfect for this, and at only £5.99, is a total steal.

Candy cane liner
If you plan on going all out with that Christmas liner, why not try out candy cane peepers, which are actually easier to achieve than you may think. All you really need is a white eyeliner or eyeshadow/pigment and a tapered brush of some sort, along with a red liner (the L'Oreal Paris Matte Signature Liquid Eyeliner in Burgundy used for the Cranberry liner above would be perfect for this). White eyeliner can be hard to come by, but this one again by L'Oreal will hopefully do the trick nicely.

Green glittery lids
One of the only times of the year when you're actively encouraged to use glitter galore is of course Christmas. And there simply isn't anything more on-brand for this time of year than green glitter, which can provide the ultimate statement eyeshadow look. Start by layering up a smoky matte green base, and add glitter as you go with your fingertip for max impact. Investing in a green palette is probably the best way to go here. We like the Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette by Huda Beauty in Emerald.

Reverse cat eye
For a Christmas liner look that'll always be trending, opt for some reverse liner. If you're not into bright colours or glitter, this is the vibe for you, as it's as close to traditional winged eyeliner as you can get, but with more of a dramatic finish. For this you'll need a smoky eyeshadow palette like the Natasha Denona Mini Xenon Palette, a tapered brush, and some black liner. Finish off with plenty of mascara.

Neon green eyeliner
If you're looking for more of a party look to see you into the new year also, might we suggest neon green liner, which did the rounds both on TikTok and in celebsville in 2021 — with everybody from Lucy Hale to Kendall Jenner giving it a go — and we're not bored of it yet. How you approach this trend is up to you, but we love a double liner look to bring all the festive fun. Pick up some of the Suva Beauty's Hydra FX cake liner in ‘Fanny Pack,’ which glows in the dark!
