Platform sandals aren't for everyone. On the one hand, they allow a level of comfort that conventional stilettos most definitely aren't affording you, and on the other they're quite a commitment to a statement look.
However, at the Grammys 2024 Chrissy Teigen established herself as being well and truly in favour of the platform sandal – though instead of the chunky block heels that have been in favour, she opted to return to the (arguably less-sturdy) stiletto heel. Wearing a short, strapless Alexandre Vauthier dress with a dramatic pink floral ruffle, she complemented her gown with her statement satin stilettos.
And let's be realistic… we'll be living in number 8.

While the platform sandal is typically a go-to for comfort, Chrissy's footwear featured ultra-thin heels of over 12cm that make it closer to a stiletto than anything else. And while these definitely look like something we'd personally struggle to walk in, we do take some solace in the thought that Chrissy hopefully only had to make it through a few hours in these heels.
At a time when Uggs are making their triumphant return, we really thought we'd seen the end of painfully-tall heels – but something tells us we'll be seeing the stiletto heel return with a vengeance in 2024.
Towering heels like Chrissy Teigen's probably aren't going anywhere any time soon. That said, we appreciate that these days, wearing statement heels such as these is more of a choice than an expectation.
