Apparently, if you're a recent first-time Grammy winner and you're invited to sit front row at Paris Fashion Week, you are required to steal the show with your beauty imaginativeness. First, Doechii blew our minds with her Acne Studios look, and now, Chappell Roan is cranking out the creativity in the City of Lights.
We're especially in awe of the look she wore to the Rick Owens runway show, with its rule-breaking makeup. But don't get so distracted by her alien-esque visage that you don't notice what might be the most fascinating element of her ensemble: a manicure that looks a lot like nipple piercings.
Now, we're not saying Roan's nails look exactly like nipples—not at all. Though it's entirely possible that some people do have nipples that are the same extremely pale pink shade of her sheer, slightly pearlescent nail polish. It's just that, on each nail, there are two silver balls that have been placed to suggest a bar connecting them, just like a nipple piercing. Hell, they're even about the width of a nipple piercing.
Also, shout out to Roan's left thumbnail, which is currently swathed in a plaster. Hopefully that's not the result of an actual nail-piercing attempt, but that would make the look even more punk, to be honest.
But her eyes are up here, you guys. And what incredible eyes they are! The singer-songwriter wore cloudy, white contact lenses, which complemented the simultaneously stark and soft white powder she wore all over her face. It served as a perfectly contrasting canvas for the black dots artistically added to her cheeks and forehead, framing the dramatic black eyeliner and graphic shadow she wore. A pinkish-greige, matte lip completed the inventive look.
It appears to be an escalation of the look she wore to the Rabanne show earlier in the day, which she topped off with a brunette wig.
If she can switch up her look this much the same day, we can't wait to see what else she does over the next few days of Paris Fashion Week.
