After a decade away from the spotlight, Cameron Diaz has officially re-entered the chat.

First spotted out and about in January for the Berlin premiere of Back in Action, for which the star came out of retirement to film in 2022, the Charlie's Angels actress just returned to Paris Fashion Week for the first time in 13 years (her last appearance being at the Valentino Spring/Summer 2012 Haute-Couture show) to attend Stella McCartney's show yesterday, immediately making headlines for her standout look.

Sat alongside Kate Moss, Anna Wintour and Tom Ford, Cameron wore a tomato-red dress under a dove-grey coat, she paired her look with Stella McCartney's latest Ryder bag and a rather controversial shoe—the duck pumps.

Once all the rage around five years ago, the duck shoe—or rather, duck boot at the time—was a favourite amongst the fashion set, the most popular being the Manu Atelier lace-up boots that were found on the feet of nearly every influencer. The elongated, square-toed shoe a divisive style that not everyone was enthusiastic about; its reappearance on Cameron Diaz elicited more than a few groans at our morning meeting.

But in the fiery hue, Cameron makes a case for the exaggerated style as a quirky shoe to add a touch of whimsy to an otherwise prim and proper look. She later wore it out again that evening with a faux leather trench coat and demure grey slacks, demonstrating just how versatile the shoe can be if styled with a monochromatic palette.

Cameron's latest Fashion Week appearance marks both an on-screen and sartorial renaissance for the star who had previously taken some time away from Hollywood for a quieter life. She is set to return to Shrek for the franchise's fifth movie, in which Cameron has voiced the character of Fiona since the film was first released in 2001 and will be joined by Zendaya who will voice Shrek's daughter in a viral announcement made last week. We just can't wait to see all the looks this '90s queen will be serving on the press tour.
