If there's one thing we love at the Couture shows, it's the statement makeup. Couture is about opulence and flamboyance - what sits within the realms of 'wearable' is often thrown right out the window.

The Autumn/Winter 2017 Haute Couture show saw models saunter down the runway sporting the most amazing bold eye makeup - something we are now calling 'paintbox eyes'. Not for the faint hearted, these primary colours patted around the eyes in watercolour style served as a reminder that the world of couture is centred around imagination and fantasy.

The eyes were not the only standout of the overall beauty look at the show. Hair was pulled back into neat twisted ponytails and tucked into bun nets, in a move that screamed pure sophistication.

The only man who could claim such a chic style? Sam McKnight, of course. The renowned stylist put his brand new hairsprays to good use with these updos, using two of the four in his range. First up was the 'Easy Updo' spray, which creates texture and hold for ponytails and buns. He also used his 'Modern Hairspray' for a light fix when the style was finished.
