The right shade of blonde is hard to nail. Too warm and it can look brassy. Too cool and you can look washed out. But champagne blonde, the uber-chic tone that sits perfectly between the two, is bang on trend for 2026, and in even better news, complements most skin tones.
Natural and romantic.

The latest incarnation of blonde is possibly the most expensive looking (and sounding) yet. The word ‘Champagne’ just evokes thoughts of bougie nights out, expensive holidays and fabulous celebrations, doesn't it? And it would seem that it's not just us who are loving the rich blonde shade — A-list hairdresser and Advocate Colourist at Josh Wood, Jason Hogan, is touting champagne blonde as the hair colour of 2026. Better yet, he's got some handy tips on how to achieve it yourself.
How to get Champagne blonde hair
"Champagne is not only for celebrations," he told us. "Make it part of your everyday life! Since the 17th century, champagne has been associated with royalty, affluence and prestige and in 1905, it became a recorded colour in English. Its soft, palest, golden hue is becoming synonymous with luxury so you should absolutely incorporate it into your hair regimen."
Jason said he found himself leaning towards the champagne palette not only to give opulent, beautiful and balanced blondes, but to give clients that unacknowledged richness and naturalism icy and ash blondes lack. Not a want, but a NEED.
If you're a first-time blonde, make sure to read our seven steps for taking care of bleached blonde hair. Don't forget to use a great hair toner to stop any unwanted brassy tones from showing through, and always consider switching up your in-shower product regime to include a sulphate-free shampoo to make your colour last longer.
And while you might feel tempted, we'd recommend never bleaching your own hair at home. A drastic bleach job requires lifting and using stronger peroxides, and these are skills that have taken professionals YEARS to perfect. They're experts at mixing the ideal shade, ensuring your hair stays in the best condition it can and colour-correcting any dodgy undertones. Any mistakes you make may ultimately be harder to fix in the long run. So if you are looking for a refresh, it's always wise book an appointment, 'kay?
With that in mind, are you looking for shades to pin to your hair inspo moodboard? Below are six different ways to personalise your Champagne blonde according to your skin tone and preferences:
