The Brit Awards return on Saturday 2 March to celebrate the best of the music industry. Women are dominating the nominations this year, and rightly so, with six of the ten Artist of the Year nominees being female.
Artists up for awards at this year's event cover everyone from Little Simz and Dua Lipa to RAYE and Olivia Dean. Truly, there's some stellar talent nominated and some equally incredible acts confirmed for the night.
Women rule supreme in this year's Brit Awards nominations
This year's event will be hosted by Love Island: All Stars presenter Maya Jama and radio hosts Clara Amfo and Roman Kemp, with it set to take place at the O2 Arena and broadcast live on ITV1 and ITVX.
With the confirmed line-up having now been revealed, we can assure you that this year's event will not be short of pure star power.
That said, here's who is performing at the Brits 2024.
Dua Lipa
Dua Lipa was the first singer to be announced as a performer at the Brit Awards 2024, and with her new release Training Season out today, we can't wait to see what she has planned for her Brits performance.
With her having previously won six Brit Awards such for British Female Solo Artist and British Single of the Year, Dua's no stranger to the event and has a further three nominations at this year's awards.
Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding
With the pair nominated for Song of the Year for their hit single Miracle, Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding will be gracing the Brits stage this year, with the DJ producer also up for the public-voted Pop Act and Dance Act categories. The two have collaborated plenty in the past, with Need Your Love and Outside forever being stuck in our heads on repeat.
Both artists are no strangers to the Brits stage, with each having performed in previous years. In a statement ahead of the performance, Calvin Harris said “Can’t wait for a VERY SPECIAL performance with Ellie!".
Kylie Minogue
If anyone knows how to put on a show it's Kylie Minogue, and thankfully that's exactly what we'll be getting at the Brits 2024.
The artist was recently announced as a performer for this year's event, with the news coming after us learning that she is set to be presented with the Global Icon award. So deserved!
In a statement Minogue, who is also nominated for international artist of the year, said “I am beyond thrilled to be honoured with the Global Icon Award and to be joining a roll call of such incredible artists. The U.K. has always been a home from home, so the Brits have a very special place in my heart. I have some amazing memories from the awards over the years and I can’t wait to be back on the Brits stage. See you at the O2!”
RAYE
BRIT School alum RAYE shattered records this year as she became the most nominated artist ever at the Brit awards, overtaking previous record holders Craig David, Gorillaz and Robbie Williams who had a joint record with six.
This year, RAYE is up for seven total awards including Artist of the Year to Song of the Year.
Speaking to BBC News, RAYE said: “I’m a BRIT kid, innit? I went to the BRIT School and it was the goal, the ultimate goal, to find my way somehow to the BRIT Awards.”
Speaking on the nominations in a press statement, RAYE added: “I am completely floored to be recognised seven times this year. I was a BRIT school student and I remember how deeply I dreamed of one day being recognised at the BRITs. I am currently a mess of overwhelming emotions and confusion as to how this even happened to be honest.”
“I know some incredible women who are still so shaken by their traumas.”
Jungle
Also joining this year's Brits performance line-up is Jungle, the electronic dance duo responsible for Back on 74 (AKA our unofficial anthem last year). The pair are also nominees this year, up for for Group of the Year alongside the likes of Blur, Chase & Status, Headie One, K-Trap and Young Fathers.
Ahead of their performance, Jungle said: “It's an honour for us to be asked to perform at this year's Brit Awards. We're really excited to be part of such an amazing showcase for British music.”
The best in the biz!
Rema
If you've been anywhere on the internet since June 2022, chances are you've heard the song Calm Down at least a few times by now. The artist behind this hit is Nigerian rapper Rema, with the already huge song recently being remixed in a collaboration with Selena Gomez.
Needless to say, the song proved a hit and charted in the top 10 in the UK and US alike. On his appearance at the Brits this year, Rema said “I am honoured to be returning to The O2 to perform at the Brit Awards this year.”
Tate McRae
Canadian pop star Tate McRae took the music scene by storm with her UK Top 3 single greedy, with the artist having been nominated for International Song of the Year.
On her performance, McRae said “I’m so excited to be returning to London for my first Brit Awards! It is the biggest honour to be performing on the iconic Brits stage. It’s going to be an unforgettable night!”
