Best Mind Boosting Gym: Psycle Studios Shoreditch
It’s safe to say during the previous year, we have endured unusual circumstances which have led us all to experience a lower lack of motivation in life. Welcome, Psycle’s barre classes, providing a brain lead workout that releases ‘hope molecules’ into the body, designed to ‘spark joy’ back into our lives. How? New scientific research has shown our weekly workouts can actually work as an immediate anti-anxiety coping mechanism increasing our long-term happiness. Kelly McGonigal Ph.D., a psychologist from the University of Stanford and author of ‘The Joy Of Movement, tells Glamour “When you contract your muscles in any type of movement, they are secreting chemicals into your bloodstream, which travel to your brain, cross the blood-brain barrier, and can act as an antidepressant.” Now that’s worth trying!
Spin broken down in 45, 60, or 90-minute sessions… (90 minutes? Safe to say I’d leave in proud sorrow, let's get it!), a modern take on traditional barre designed to boost your metabolism and challenge your mind, strength training and of course Yoga.
Prices are based on credits, starting from £13 per class when you spend £325 on a rolling membership, up to a single class costing £22 for one credit. For a limited time, you can purchase an intro bundle costing you £30 for three classes and one class for a friend.
