Bella Hadid is something of a trainer-influencer, at this point, isn't she? In fact, the model-slash-sneakerhead might have just declared which style is set to trend for 2024 (following The Great Samba Sweep of 2023), no less.

Bella is known to prefer sneakers for her off-duty looks, from designer kicks to Asics and New Balance – and of course, her beloved Adidas Sambas. But if her latest look is anything to go by, there's a new shoe in town.

Unsurprisingly, Bella chose a suitably model-off-duty look to showcase her new sneaks – wearing a simple (and slightly sheer) white tank top, bootleg jeans and a worn-in leather jacket while visiting a community centre in New York earlier this month.

But it's her Adidas Originals SL 72 trainers that have caught attention. They're distinctly Samba-adjacent, with a slim fit and panelled toe – but with a foamy sole that's bound to be comfier than some of its contemporaries. Bella's choice of maroon feels like a new take on the colourful trainer trend, too. Is burgundy the new red?

If you thought Bella Hadid was the only sneakerhead ditching her adidas Sambas, stop there – since recent GLAMOUR cover girl Emily Ratajkowski has also made a departure from 2023's favourite trainer.

Emily's choice is also slimline like the Samba, but even sportier – in the Puma X Sparco Speedcat trainers, which feature the brand's signature racing tick.

But back to Bella. If she's proven anything, it's that trainers are for life, not just for passing seasons – since she was last spotted in her Sambas just a few months ago. Her latest kicks are just another for the collection, no doubt; but we can't deny that the retro-looking SL 72 (which is inspired by an adidas shoe from 1972) could shape up to be the girlies' next cult pick.
