We've known Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan have been seeing each other for a while — but some fans are now convinced that the pop star and actor have called it quits.
This comes after the pair hard-launched their relationship in the best way possible: via the pop star's new music video, ‘Please Please Please’ back in June.
The video, a follow up to her single ‘Espresso’ which will both feature on Sabrina's new album Short n Sweet, sees the Saltburn actor repeatedly being arrested for robbing banks and fighting people with Sabrina continuously going to jail to collect him on release.
It ends with the singer, 25, handcuffing Barry, 31, to a chair and taping over his mouth. The song contains the lyrics: “Heartbreak is one thing / my ego’s another. I beg you, don’t embarrass me, motherf***er / Please, please, please.” Could Sabrina be sending her boyfriend a warning, perhaps?
The Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan dating rumours started way back in December 2023. Since, fans have had their suspicions all-but confirmed with public dinner dates, a picture at an Oscars afterparty, and some flirty Instagram commentary. But it wasn't until May this year that the couple made their official first red carpet appearance – at none other than the Met Gala 2024.
Both Barry and Sabrina arrived together at the event, posing separately on the carpet before coming together at the top of the famous steps for a photo op – with Sabrina in a cloud-like Oscar De La Renta gown, and Barry in a custom Burberry suit complete with a top hat.
The singer and actor have also been seen running errands together over previous months, and Barry was also in attendance at three of Carpenter's Eras tour dates, where she supported Taylor Swift. Neither Sabrina nor Barry have commented on their relationship status, still – but their cover-the-mouth poses seem to be the unspoken symbol of their coupledom (as demonstrated in their Met Gala and Oscars afterparty photos).
The obsession with the Saltburn star has gone too far.

"They are both young and career-focused, so they've decided to take a break," a source told the publication. The news has not yet been confirmed by reps for either the singer or the actor.
Although the news has not yet been confirmed, fans are — well — kind of spiralling.

In the pics, Carpenter wears an all-black outfit, and Keoghan dons black pants and a varsity-style jacket. They're standing together, but they're not holding hands or cuddling, either. While we can't say for sure if they were on a date or just hanging out and checking out some art, it certainly seems like they were there together. In the paparazzi pics, both the actor and the musician are dressed casually, with Keoghan in a henley and Carpenter wearing a leather trench, jeans, and a bow in her hair. Maybe they're friends. Maybe they were on a date. Maybe they were just hanging out in the same vicinity and Keoghan dropped her off because they're neighbours. We truly don't know.

After the two were seen out and about and grabbing dinner together in Los Angeles in early spring 2023, Sabrina Carpenter was romantically linked to fellow pop singer Shawn Mendes. However, Mendes shot down the rumours in March 2023, telling RTL Boulevard that the pair were “not dating.”
24-year-old Carpenter had also previously been linked to High School Musical: The Musical: The Series star Joshua Bassett. (Their relationship was supposedly the inspiration for a few songs by Olivia Rodrigo, who was also rumoured to have dated Bassett.)
