So, when we heard about Anna Nicole Smith: You Don’t Know Me, which is, according to the streaming platform, absolutely chocca with never-seen-before footage of the late model and actress, we knew we'd found something to fill the Lewis Capaldi doc shaped-hole we've found in our lives lately.
The upcoming documentary is set to examine the life, death and secrets of the American model, actress, and television personality, who started her career as a Playboy magazine centrefold in May 1992 and won the title of 1993 Playmate of the Year. In fact, so famous was Anna's face, that even if you feel you don't recognise her name, you'd certainly recognise her in a picture.
Sadly, the model passed away in February 2007 after she was found unresponsive at a hotel in Florida. A post mortem revealed she had passed away from an accidental prescription drug overdose.

Well, according to Netflix's description of the documentary it, will be an “unflinching" and “humanising” look into the glorified, glamorous figure, a portrait pieced together by “never-before-seen footage” and interviews with important people in her professional and private life.

From her first appearance in Playboy in 1992, Anna Nicole’s dizzying ascent was the very essence of the American dream, brought to a tragic halt with her untimely passing in 2007. With access to never-before-seen footage, home movies, and interviews with key figures who have not spoken out until now, Anna Nicole Smith: You Don't Know Me reveals new insights into the story of the quintessential blonde bombshell hardly anyone really knew.”
The film comes from director Ursula Macfarlane, who said of the project: “I approached Anna Nicole's story as an epic mystery tale. How did someone with so much charisma and jaw-dropping beauty, with the world at her feet, fall so far, so quickly? Now feels like the right time to re-examine the life of yet another beautiful young woman whose life has been picked over and ultimately destroyed by our culture.”

In the clip, the model declares: “I want lots of money to make my dreams come true.” Though it's clear, without even watching the documentary itself, that this wouldn't end up being the dream she thought it was.
