The late, great podcaster and author Dame Deborah James will be further immortalised in a BBC documentary telling stories from her amazing life.

Bowelbabe: In Her Own Words will follow “the last extraordinary five years” of the cancer campaigner's life, containing never-before-seen footage, TikToks, voice notes and recordings from her podcast You Me and the Big C – which she co-presented with fellow cancer sufferers Lauren Mahon and Rachael Bland.

Deborah was made a Dame just a month before she passed away in June 2022, and her fundraiser Bowelbabe Fund for Cancer Research UK has raised more than £7 million.

Her death was announced via Instagram with an uplifting statement: "find a life worth enjoying; take risks; love deeply; have no regrets; and always, always have rebellious hope. And finally, check your poo – it could just save your life.

We don't doubt that Bowelbabe: In Her Own Words will be filled with more nuggets of life-affirming wisdom. Here's everything we know so far about the upcoming documentary.
