It's not hard to see why Alice in Borderland has become one of Netflix's most-viewed shows over the course of its three seasons so far. When its second season debuted back in 2022, it scored over 200 million in four weeks and dominated the streamer's Top 10 lists in almost 100 countries. Season 3 is finally here, and it's safe to say we are all tuning in. But, of course, with a show as good as Alice in Borderland, it won't be long before we're all chomping at the bit for more. Which brings us to the most important question: will there be an Alice in Borderland season 4?
Based on Haro Aso's manga series of the same name, Alice in Borderland is a Japanese sci-fi thriller television series that follows two gamers, Ryōhei Arisu and Yuzuha Usagi, who are caught within a parallel version of Tokyo where they must complete a series of games. Think Ready Player One meets Stranger Things meets Squid Game.
So, with season 3 finally here, we're all desperate to know: will we get more?
Netflix's latest true crime fare follows Kendra Licari, who was sentenced to a minimum of 19 months in prison for cyberbullying her daughter Lauryn in 2023. Where is Lauryn now?

The good news is there does seem to be room for the story to continue growing. Although season 3 of Alice in Borderland does resolve some storylines, it also leaves the door ajar.
Spoiler alert for season 3, but the show wraps up with a resolution for Arisu and Usagi, with both of them finally returning to the real world in spite of all of its hardships. The Man in the Hat warns them that a disaster is coming to the real world that will send many people into the Borderlands. We then find ourselves on the other side of the world in California.
In twist that feels vaguely reminiscent of the recent Squid Game ending, the show seems to pave the way for an American spin-off: the very last scene of season 3 sees the camera focusing in on the name tag of an American waitress. It is, of course, Alice. If Arisu represented “Alice” in the first three seasons of the show, this could be a hint that a new American Alice may take her place in the Borderlands.
What's written in the stars for your next watchlist obsession?

Unfortunately, we simply don't know. Although nothing has been confirmed, the creative team seems keen to keep it going.
“If you’re asking me whether I’d be interested or not, I would certainly say yes," said director Shinsuke Sato to RadioTimes.com.
Chances are, season 4 will open up the story to feature new characters – possibly some from America as the season 3 finale teased.
However, Tao Tsuchiya, who plays Usagi in the series, has some thoughts on how Alice in Borderland could continue with a focus on the same characters.
“I have a premise where the child will find themselves in Borderland and the parents have to go in and save them," she told Radio Times. “The kids don’t understand the world at all but then the parents do.”
She went on, "If it were a one-off show or film, then it would be us clearing the games by ourselves, without a child. But this is something that’s possible because it’s a show over a couple of seasons. We’d love for our own life experiences that come with our age to be projected into the story. I’m holding my hand out into the ether and hope one of the producers will be listening!”
Jackson Lamb and River Cartright are finally back.

Based on the timeline of Alice in Borderland so far, it would probably be a lengthy wait. Season 1 of the show came out in 2020, season 2 came out in 2022, and season 3 dropped in 2025. That means we're probably looking at a season 4 release date of 2027 or even 2028.
