ITVFor the first time in X Factor history, viewers will vote via hashtag on
Twitter to determine which of the judges is allocated each of the four categories – the Girls, Boys, Groups and Overs.
The fate of all of the judges and the acts will be in the public’s hands, with the live Twitter vote opening during the first episode on Saturday 29 August, and closing at 12:00pm on Tuesday 1 September.
ITVWhat's more, to celebrate, the judges and categories each have their own special emoji which will appear across tweets during the vote.
ITVRita on... the idea of a weekly style war with her and Cheryl: "I think we clearly have very different tastes in clothes. I don’t know if it’s obvious, but I’m a bit crazier when it comes to my dress sense. So I don’t think we will have to worry about that at all."
ITVOlly on what he's most excited about: "I think just having such a laugh on live TV. Caroline told me when I first started out that I would love live TV. I couldn’t think of anything worse because it freaked me out, but when we did Xtra Factor we had such a laugh, so I hope people see that when they watch the show."
Caroline Flack: "We want to keep the energy up, I think that’s our job. It’s not to make it the Olly and Caroline show, we’re there to keep everyone happy. We are there to fizzle out the awkward moments, stick up for the contestants, we’re on their side all the time. If the judges want to give them some stick, we’re there to stick up for them, that’s our role. We’re there to support them and be a shoulder to cry on."
ITVNick Grimshaw reckons there will be bickering on this year's X Factor.
"I think there will be rows. I thought there would be rows before but everyone has really got on. It’s been really fun, a lot more fun than I thought it was going to be. I think we feel really comfortable with each other which is going to lead to rows. If I didn’t feel comfortable with Cheryl, Simon and Rita then I probably wouldn’t row, I’d bite my tongue. But now that I feel like we’re friends, I will be a bit more row-y."
ITVSimon Cowell on why he chose GLAMOUR cover star Rita Ora as one of the new judges: "It did make me laugh when I thought about getting Rita onto the show. We did have her first! She was a very different girl back then, it was one of the first things she did and she was very shy, she was good, but not the Rita we have today. When I saw her on The Voice a couple of years later it was like, ‘How come they’ve got her? I wanted her’. I met her at
the Brits and I asked her what happened, she said I didn’t ask her. I said, ‘I did, and to make it clear, I’m asking you again’. I never thought it would happen and then she came round to my house one night with her manager, and I got on so well with her. I said, ‘Do you want to do it?’ and she said, ‘I’m going to do it’."
ITVOlly Murs has some lovely things to say about Caroline Flack: "We are just best friends. Caroline has been so amazing, when I met her four years ago she has been so brilliant towards me. She’s helped me in this job but once we started working with each other, I knew straight away that Caroline’s going to be a massive part of my life beyond the industry. We are going to be mates for the rest of our lives. It’s amazing to be able to work with your best mate."
ITVCaroline Flack on replacing Dermot O'Leary: "It won’t be the same because there’s two of us. We’re not Dermot, no one will ever be Dermot."
ITVSimon Cowell says that we've got a whole new Cheryl this year. "I’ve got to be honest with you, Cheryl’s the happiest I have seen her in years," Simon said.
He added: "She’s a completely different person this year. I said to her the other night, ‘You’ve got your mojo back’. She’s really enjoying being on this show, it’s not like a job, she’s enjoying it and I think that’s got a lot to do with Rita."
