Kendall Jenner finally reveals the reason she stopped catwalk modelling and we're so here for her honesty
While last season's blockbuster shows may have boasted the likes of Gigi Hadid, Kaia Gerber, Joan Smalls and even Elle Fanning on their runways, there was one very notable absence.
Kendall Jenner's career has skyrocketed over the past few years, following her introduction to modelling back in 2009. She showed everyone who doubted her as 'just a reality TV personality' that she was a seriously talented model and has seen great success. But fashion fans may remember she was absent during Fashion Month. And now, the young model has revealed why.
Speaking in an interview with LOVE Magazine, she said: “Last season I didn’t do any shows. Just 'cause I was working in LA and I was like ‘Oof, I can’t right now - I’m gonna go crazy.’"
"I was on the verge of a mental breakdown."
She also said that despite how blessed she feels to be part of one of the world's most famous families, she often finds it tough: “I wouldn't change it for the world but there are days where I wish I could walk outside and nothing would be like it is right now.”
Since hitting her catwalk peak in 2016, the young model has been appearing on fewer and fewer runways each season. Spring/Summer 2018 saw her walk for just Michael Kors, Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren, Versace, Alexander Wang and Tom Ford.
We were first given a hint about Kendall's anxiety when Kris Jenner starred in a teaser from Keeping Up With The Kardashians .
The video showed Kris on the phone to Kendall, who called her about an "emergency", which was revealed to be a panic attack.
In the clip, Kris explained,
"She doesn't feel well, she's not sure what it is..."
She then says to the camera,
"Kendall struggles from anxiety, and I think she has so much going on that she gets herself really worked up. Kendall gets the most anxious during fashion week so when she's travelling a lot. And Milan's coming up and trying to juggle it all is overwhelming."
In flashback footage, Kendall reveals that she gets "light-headed" and feels like she's "going to faint" and even though she looks fine, she doesn't "feel fine".
