If your biggest dream in life is to frame Kate Middleton's signature in your living room, we have some devastating news: She's not allowed to sign autographs. In fact, no one in the royal family is.

Can you snap a photo ? Sure. Shower her with bouquets of flowers? Absolutely. Scream "yaaas, queen" when she walks by you? Probably—although that technically isn't correct because she's a duchess. But asking her to sign a piece of paper is completely out of the question. And don't think getting fancy stationery will change Middleton's mind either.

So why does Buckingham Palace have such a medieval policy about Middleton's autograph? It's actually a logical safety measure to prevent her name from getting forged. It's an antifraud policy, according to the Express — and all the royals have to follow it. (When people ask Prince Charles for his signature, he allegedly says, “Sorry, they don’t allow me to do that." So polite!)

This makes sense, if you think about it. If the wrong person had Middleton's signature, they could forge her name on sketchy documents, offensive policies, or receipts for weird products. How would the royal family explain why Middleton purchased 80 hummingbird brooches on Amazon? Or a copy of Adam Sandler's movie Jack and Jill? It's a public relations catastrophe just waiting to happen.

But here's the real question: Can Middleton write other things besides her name for fans? Like, hypothetically, could she scribble the entire Mean Girls script on my arm so I can get it tattooed? Hold on, let me call the queen and ask.
