From edgy crops and trend-setting up-dos to old-school glamour and shimmering waves, teen idols Frankie, Rochelle, Mollie, Vanessa and Una's locks have long been on our style radar. We reveal their best hair moments so far and how you can get the look with a little help from our favourite stylists…

Volume is key for this look (and the majority of others at the moment) so when drying your hair, lift it at the root area with a large round brush and smooth the hair as you bring the brush and the dryer downwards. "Here, Frankie has let her natural curl develop for a fuller bouncier style," says award-winning hairdresser Phil Smith. "If you don’t have Frankie’s natural curl, use barrel tongs to recreate the fuller look. Take 4cm sections and wind around until just above the ear. Hold for five seconds and release. Once all the hair has been curled, let it cool completely before using your fingers as a comb to break up the curls and soften for the finished look."

Next, backcomb the front section of your hair gently at the roots to create a base to work around. Once the shape has height, smooth the top layer of hair over to hide the backcombing and secure at the base of the crown with a few Kirby grips - remember to match these to your hair colour.”

This look is the perfect, voluminous blow-dry. To achieve this style at home, begin by adding volume to your hair by blow-drying in sections with a round barrelled brush. When your hair is completely dry, section the hair again, add heated rollers and leave for 5 - 10 minutes. Once the rollers have been taken out, run your fingers through your hair to slightly separate the curls and soften.”

"Rochelle shows us how sleek and polished the graduated bob is, and it gives her a really sophisticated and grown up edge. This style will suit most face shapes, but a general rule is that if you have a round or square face shape you should opt for a longer length bob, while those with rectangle or elfin face shapes can carry off the traditional Mary Quant bob."

We like - and we’re not alone! "Rochelle’s glamorous, Farah Fawcett-inspired 70s style is so glamorous and ultra feminine," says Michael Young of Hooker & Young (www.hookerandyoung.co.uk). "To create the full volume, after washing blast with the cool setting of your hairdryer, upside down until it is 100% dry. Use a large round brush while drying the hair upside to smooth the cuticle and increase shine. Next, take 4cm sections and curl with large barrel tongs to add movement to the hair. Loosely run your fingers through the curls to soften them and mist with a shine spray for Rochelle-style glamour."

Una knows precisely how to work her Irish beauty heritage - fair skin, icy blue eyes and red hair - to its best advantage. This russet hue with copper highlights is to-die-for, while the 60s-inspired body and flicks are pure Bond Girl. Award-winning hair stylist Leo Bancroft says: "Una looks so glamorous with her tumbling waves and overgrown roots (which add a grunge element to her red carpet style). Why not try a big blow dry á la Una? Start by blow-drying the hair with a large round bristle brush to give volume and the loose curl. Then, using Cloud Nine’s new product The O, wind hair around heated rollers and leave to cool completely. Next, remove the rollers and backcomb slightly at the crown for extra height and staying power. Run your fingers through the lengths with a finishing serum to hold the curl in place, then spritz with a strong hold hairspray."
