We hardly recognised them out of period costume, but Downton Abbey cast members Elizabeth McGovern, Joanne Froggatt and Michelle Dockery dazzled in wine red and black lace backstage at the Emmy Awards in LA. The cast celebrated a big British win, bagging the prizes for Outstanding Directing and Outstanding Writing for a mini-series.

Sheen stunned the crowd when, before announcing the winners, he humbly said to the audience: “I want to take a moment to get something off my chest and say a few words to everybody at Two And A Half Men.
“From the bottom of my heart, I wish you nothing but the best for this upcoming season. We spent eight wonderful years together and I know you will continue to make great television.”
