How to wear spring's most romantic trend: Ruffles
Thought that ruffles and frills were for childhood birthday parties? Well, think again as they're back, decorating collars, hemlines and forming all-over cascading tiers, providing us with fashion's most romantic fashion trend.
First shown in the spring/summer shows last year, they're sticking around for 2017 and have been given an elegant makeover. Sure, ruffles still imbue a feminine charm, but they also add a sense of drama that makes for a perfect evening look.
To avoid looking too saccharine, opt for a structured or exaggerated flounce and work with a pair of tailored trousers. Those only dipping into the trend should consider a yoke blouse or ruffle trim shirt, which look great teamed with a pair of boyfriend jeans. Or tuck a frilled shirt into a thigh-baring pencil skirt for a grown-up look.
Accessories are key in this - grunge up a pretty lace ruffle dress with a pair of Converse, very Saint Laurent.
