Rosamund Pike ascent to acting success has been slow and steady.

Her glacial, English rose beauty and nuanced performances caught the eyes of directors from as early as 1998 when she first appeared in television film A Rather English Marriage, but she is best known for her roles in Die Another Day, Pride and Prejudice and Jack Reacher. It is her role in Gone Girl that may make her household name, having earned her numerous awards recognition.

Born in Hammersmith, London, she studied at Oxford after being turned down by every drama school she applied to. She's surely had the last laugh; with over 15 years acting experience behind her (and the odd reassuring fashion faux pas), the future looks brighter than ever for Rosamund Pike.
