Prism hair is the not-so-subtle way to make a statement with your colour
It may be cold and grey, but festivals and warmer days are only over the horizon (tip: remembering this will make February feel less bleak). Therefore it’s wise to get on top of this summer’s trends – and foremost among them is prism hair.
It’s not a hair colour for the shy and retiring. It’s for the OUT OUT, get-the-glitter, Glasto types but there are ways to wear it more subtly, such as washed out, pared back and pastel or in mini streaks across fringes or smaller sections of hair.

The idea is to recreate the effect of a prism. Throwing out kaleidoscopic shards of colour that look like you’ve sat underneath a crystal in the sunshine.
It's created by cleverly applied streaks of colour designed to blend seamlessly into the next shade to create a rainbow effect. Leading hair colourist and Instagrammer, Fab Hair By Josh has built up a cult 42k following for his tutorials showing how to create different affects and patterns depending on where the colours are scattered across the hair. Beside offering up ample advice to budding colourists, the slo-mo hair flick vids serve as an alternative to ASMR.
