How do you go about choosing the perfect hairstyle for your big day?
By collecting pictures from the internet, bridal mags, red carpet etc and presenting the ideas to a stylist with whom you can discuss whether it will suit your facial structure, your hairline, your dress etc…

How do you choose between an up-do and down-do?
There are a number of things you have to take into consideration… Firstly there’s the cut of the dress – some suit up & others suit down-dos. Another thing you have to think about is how well your hair holds a style. If your hair drops very quickly it’s probably worth having an up-do as by the end of the evening it’ll look lank and not at all special.

What hairstyle will look best in photographs?
Any hairstyles look good in photos! But if you have a very tight up-do try & get it slightly from the side otherwise it might look like you’re bald!

How can you ensure your hairstyle lasts all day?
Up-dos are easiest to keep looking sleek all day as curls or waves can drop. But I think a good stylist who preps the hair thoroughly, using all the right styling & finishing products & your ‘do should stay the day…

When it comes to accessories, what works well?
It really depends on the style & on the ‘look’. Feathers & flowers are popular for more bohemian looks, while tiaras & diamond studded clips remain a staple for traditional brides. I’d recommend www.RubyandFrost.com for their hair accessories.

Should all the bridesmaids have matching hairstyles?
Only if they have similar face shapes and styles
What looks are on-trend for 2012?
Boho chic – tousled soft waves. And chic up-dos are also very sleek.

Should bridesmaids’ styles be similar to the bride’s?
No – a bride should stand out!
What do you do if all you bridesmaids have completely different hair colours/lengths?
Go with a certain style e.g. wave, curl, straight, half-up – and then mould each bridesmaid’s hair appropriately to length, face shape, physique & style

Use a doughnut (these can be bought from Patrick Cameron online) to create a sleek high bun
How do we create it?
Loop the hair around the doughnut twice, spread the hair around it & pin it.
